Rogue One's incredibly "original" story: Team diversity vs evil White ethnocentrism.

Disney's racist bantha poodoo has ruined Star Wars, just like they ruined Marvel.

 

"Man, that diversity sure feels like oppression when I am accustomed to the privilege."

 

Don't try and get around the fact that this is another epic White male hating Star Wars "film" (in truth, propaganda picture) identical to The Force Awakens.

With such hostility towards their core audience, it's no wonder that Hollywood is going down the tubes....and good riddance, I say.

 

You know what, on most days, I would respond to your comment with something like this:

But today.. tonight.. I'm feeling very evil.
So I'm going to give you a like.

 

Great trailer in terms of
+setting up the stakes
+setting up the characters
+showing off interesting visuals - potential to be better and more original than The Force Awakens
+only teasing Vader (do not expect him to be in the movie as much as Episode IV)
+potential iconic line "I fear nothing. All is as the Force wills it."
some minor complaints would be
-recycled shots from previous footage
-no line from Jyn as iconic as "This is a rebellion isn't it? I rebel"
-previous trailer had more of "badass" Jyn
-humor may be a bit awkward

 

All lipstick on a pig...the core message of this "film," diversity is a strength and White men are evil, sucks.

Perhaps this will be the one where longtime fans finally say enough!...and start abandoning the franchise in mass, which is loooong overdue.

Star Wars has literally sucked for over thirty years....three decades....Jedi was the last film that was actually good....all of the ones since then have been terrible.

However, I don't even consider Disney's monstrosities to be legit Star Wars....bad fan fiction is more like it.

 

SOME THOUGHTS I HAVE:

- The TIE that confronts Jyn Erso is , in fact, Bodhi Rook (however you spell it) rescuing her.
- We get a new version of the Lambda Class Imperial Shuttles.
- The Death Star makes a solar eclipse (presumably over Jedha) to possibly choke out the atmosphere.
- AT-ACTs seem to be more durable than the ones on Hoth.
- Saw has hair in this one again.

Let me elaborate on why the lack of Darth Vader was a disservice. A brief tease of him may have worked in the 1980s, but this is 2016. We have seen the extent of his power in many video games and comics by this point. Tease us with something new. How am I meant to get excited by one shot of Vader standing, when I've played as him committing mass genocide on Kashyyyk?

Lastly, is a good thing or a bad thing that Star Wars Rebels trailers for seasons two and three have excited me more than those for the films?

 

Go ack to 4chan and play with your alt-right buddies. Apart from the fact that the rebels always had more diversity than the Imps - Leia, Lando, not to mention Chewie and the other aliens and droids, your claim that Star Wars has alienated its core audience is hilarious, given that TFA is the biggest grossing film of all time in the USA. That'd be the movie where the entirely white, human forces of oppression are finally overthrown by a multi-species alliance of humans, aliens and a tribe of native teddy bears with bows and arrows then?

On the trailer itself, visually stunning, but like someone else said, I thought that the dialogue was a little clunky, hopefully it ain't so in the movie itself.

That is what I am thinking as well. They are probably saving more Darth Vader for the full Trailer.

 

I'd go as far to say they're probably saving more Vader for the film - except for a possibly a longer shot of him in the last trailer? Personally, if Vader is going bad ass in this film, I want that to seen in the film only! What an experience that would be

 

Trailer is awesome. The planet/scenery stuff looks SO damn good! There are a few shots that honestly have me more hyped than some of the stuff in the TFA trailers. That OT love never dies. Those Death Star Shots. Damn. I'm glad the trailer was longer too. It was rumored to be a shortened version or something and that was definetely inaccurate.

 

I thought it is was a little awkward and forced. Not sure if that was the desired effect.
