SPOILER Bothanspi "Leaks"

This is borderline stalking. If someone posted something anonymously or with fake id they did so for a reason they don't want there names released. I don't want to know who they are, they are entitled to there own privacy.

 

He literally said "It's not touched on in the movie," i.e. this information is not gleaned from the movie he claims to be working on, "but from my understanding it is the climax of the Rebels show," i.e. he is claiming to know information of the dramatic conclusion of Rebels that is still several years out (and would be known only to the Lucasfilm story group and maybe the showrunners), and furthermore he is claiming to know the dramatic conclusion of an entirely different production with an entirely different crew that WOULD NOT ALSO be working on TFA, since it is both animation and TV, not live action film.

IT IS NOT POSSIBLE that he would be working with anyone who would be revealing details about Rebels to him. Just like IT IS NOT POSSIBLE for him to know that "Rey's identity won't be revealed until the next film" (even if this were true, it's not like he'd be aware that Rey's identity is fake from being on set, he'd just assume she's Rey and doesn't have any familial connections to other characters). He's lying, just as he's lying about having worked on TFA.

You are not reading the literal truth of what he is saying, which are lies.

 

Right, he would essentially have to be a member of the Storygroup or related and I just don't see a person in that position being the source of a leak.

 

What bothanspi meant was that Kanan had undergone some sort of trauma but that the specific nature of the trauma was not "touched on in the movie." As far as Rey's identity is concerned, he was talking about how she didn't know who her parents were and that they would presumably be revealed in a later movie. He then took an "educated guess" that Luke might be her father.

Here is my position on bothanspi at present: Bothanspi made a claim about Princess Leia which, as far as I can tell, was unique to him at the time he made it. This claim was corroborated by Jason Ward two days later, despite Ward's having first disagreed with it. Bothanspi's claims about Finn and Kylo Ren are not unique to him but are consistent with the claims of two credible sources: Ward and Mizzlewump. He knew the term "b-roll," indicating him to have some familiarity with the jargon of filmmaking. He also had a strikingly warm, affectionate personality and he gave me the impression that he was a kind of "fish out of water" posting on a Star Wars website. This last point is more intangible, but I can definitely feel it.

Do these things prove he was telling the truth? Of course not, but they give us reason not to immediately dismiss him. As no one has yet provided evidence which satisfactorily demonstrates him to have been lying, I will continue to remain interested in what he said for the time being. I am not a dogmatic person and can accept that we simply don't yet know enough about bothanspi for us to be able to properly assess the validity of his information.

 

I did not identify anybody as being bothanspi. I only gave an example of a person who commuted from the United States to Pinewood. There are quite a few people who did this. If I had definitely identified bothanspi, I would have been more circumspect about naming him on a public forum. Also, I am not aware of bothanspi having behaved in a "dubious" way.

Second of all, I also want to add to this discussion the observation that geolocation data for IP addresses is often inaccurate. For example, this Comcast customer complained that their IP address was associated with New Jersey, even though they lived in Florida: http://forums.comcast.com/t5/Basic-...ion-information-Geolocation-Data/td-p/1958247. So again, the geolocation data for bothanspi could very well be completely meaningless.

 

Dude, he has been proven a fraud. You need to let it go or you are going to be crushed.

I get that you like what he said, he looked up movie terms, and he said "love you all"...that just means he put a little work into his trick.

He's fake. He knew WAY too much about stuff not in the movie. It wasn't JJ's golfing buddy.

I'm pretty sure the crazy Leia thing has literally been around for months. I want to say starwarsunderworld reported on it back when they reported on their own stuff.

Please let it go man. It's getting crazy and you are just setting yourself up for disappointment.

 

But what if he is the buddy of guy who has a brother, who knows a dude with a girlfriend, who has a friend, who heard of man, who saw an old lady, who remembers a child, whos dad sold J.J. a hot dog ?! lol

 

Where has he been proven a fraud? People keep repeating this to me, yet they never offer any evidence in support of their claim. If you would be so kind as to provide a source for your allegation that a reputable website had previously reported that Leia will be crazy, then I would be willing to reconsider my position on bothanspi.

And why do I have to "let it go"? Why do you care about what I believe so much? Everybody's been attacking bothanspi as a fake, and I simply gave a few reasons as to why it might be a mistake to disregard him. That's all. If you disagree with my point of view and don't want to think about it anymore, then you're free to talk about any other topic you'd like. I'm not stopping you.

 

The basis of your argument seems to be based on his comment about Leia and what you state is Jason's confirmation of this point. I think you are overstating your argument. Bothanspi said that Leia is a little twisted in the head. Jason said she was proud of the weapon. I would say these two statements do not be the same. After having to destroy two Death Stars with small fighters having a weapon that can adequately protect the Republic could be something to be proud of. Being twisted in the head implies crazy. I would not say proud and crazy to be the same.

Any argument otherwise is overstating the facts which can be easy to do when passionate about your viewpoint.

 

Sorry, but if Bothanspi had his own blog and sold t-shirts, I'd be much more willing to believe his descriptions of the movie.

 

New theory is @Darth Yoda is Bothanspi, how else would he know what Bothanspi meant, regardless of what Bothanspi actually said? Also, the same friendly tone.

Can someone tell me Darth Yoda's geolocation via his IP (which, admittedly, is an unreliable indicator of a person's actual location but still worth posting about ad infinitum). Is it Missouri? I'm serious guys, he is the only one on this forum who knows what b-roll means besides Bothanspi, it must be the same person.

I expect Han and Leia to have maybe popped out a couple kids, but to be perfectly frank all of these rumors of every new character being the off spring of some important character we've seen before are about as interesting as most of the EU material they officially flushed down the toilet.

It's just the exact type of thing that doesn't even appeal to most Star Wars fans, and especially the old jaded fans that today only like Star Wars ironically.

I haven't the faintest idea why people even give a blast if one out of three black characters in these films is or isn't closely related to the others. What a weird thing to even care about or expect to seriously have even mentioned in the film.
