I was thinking Diathim, because he sort of looks like one. But Zeltron possibly too, if he's very bleached.

Yes but again we have a big problem.

Any known alien species member , and I mean absolutely any alien known to Empire, will have impossible task to take control of the Imperial military in the Known Regions of the Galaxy, as the Empire has set its command to be entirely human as we know. No Alien policy.

Also, by the information from Afermath and Bloodline, we can already reconstruct early formation of the First Order.

We can be sure now that the Operator(Unindentified fleet admiral) who was well known to other commanders of the Empire (thus by definition of Imperial military pro-human rule a human) has rallied Empire forces, and that the partly reaorganised remnants of the Empire, the nucleus of the First Order retreated in this state into the Unknown Regions of the Galaxy to stay there for nearly 30 years.

So it is highly unlikely any known alien species member has taken control of the remnants of the Empire prior to their retreat into Unknown Regions of the Galaxy.

And if any alien has taken control of F.O there in the Unknown Regions, how did he knew so much About Vader, Skywalkers, history of the Empire?

Thats how I came to conclusion Snoke must be former Imperial admiral, deformed, damaged but once human.

I don't really see it as a problem. Snoke could have left for the Unknown Regions with them, or followed them there, and when the First Order realized how necessary he was, Snoke became their leader. There's nothing like destroying prejudice with power, leadership, hypnosis, and Dark Side prowess.

If we assume Snoke as an alien has followed retreating Empire into the Unknown Regions, and than he presented his qualities and took control, here is the problem:

Again we must return us to the Known Regions of Galaxy and ask how did such Powerful Force wielder of the Dark side was not known to the Palpatine, to the Inquisitors, to the Machinery made to control everyone, especially any sign of the belief in the Force?? Also how did he learned his powers without some teachings ,without at least some guidance from the Sith?

You assumption is making 2 big problems thus:

    1. How was Palps and his machinery so blind to not detect Snoke in the Galaxy ?

2.Even if palps has omited to notice Snoke , Snoke apearance is breaking story about Balance of the Force brought by death of Palps and Vader.

    3. Whatever talented, how did Snoke became so powerfull without at least some guidance and teachings by the sith once?

Again we are returning to conclusion Snoke must have Acquired his power gradually, becoming as a modest Force sensitive, to achiever great power trough his seek for knowledge, to the teachings got by Palpatine, by study of Plagueis, and also, we Know something discovered by guy under name Yordis here on this forum:

"......No one knows the limits of his own power until it has been tested to the utmost....."Snoke, The Force Awakens, novel

So snoke wasn't so powerfull once. . He searched for knowledge, got some from the Sith, and had an ultimate test of his life in a event that is linked to his injuries , which transformed him into powerfull dark side wielder, at a price.

    Snoke is decoded.

Sidious did know about him--Snoke designed the Death Stars for him. But Sidious didn't see him as a threat, as we can see by Snoke's injuries.
No, because Snoke is not Sith, and also because he appreciates both the Light and the Dark.
Lol, are you sure about that? ;)

So, yes. A gal, not a guy. :D
But back to Snoke, I think it would be poetic, if he made the Death Stars, and if he's a Diathim. That puts references to him, retconned foreshadowing, throughout all of the movies.

I think all things point to him gradually gaining his power .

This will be also beneficial because of preserving some conection, preserving balance of the Force old story at least somewhat ,and I hope Disney has left at least this little dignity of the once great Siths, which teached him at one point.

Snoke gained power trough steps as I see them now :

1.Born as a Force sensitive never trained as a Jedi (however...? here I left open)

2.Studied Dark side all by himself, Dark sorcery and such stuff, also joined a some Dark religion cult,

3.Because of his qualities he was employed by Palps as his chief of Intelligence and his hand, and received techings from Palps (probabaly even Vader).

    4. In some event jet to be revealed he faced a challenge of his life (probably event mentioned in Aftermath --- the Operator 's apparent death and return).

    5. Further dwelling into the Darkness in the unknown Regions to get even more power, at the price of even more decay of his body.

I think it is impossible for Snoke to be human as not only does the novel state that he is 'humanoid not human' but we were also given information early on (I can't remember where) that he was around 7 foot tall, very slim and that the character had to be mo-cap CGI as it was impossible for a human to play him in costume/makeup. Therefore it certainly is interesting how a non-human has control of this racist organisation. I agree that it is most likely out of desperation and their need for a powerful leader. It is also worth noting that as of so far only Hux and Kylo Ren have seen Snoke. Is it possible that the mere foot soldiers of the empire do not actually know what Snoke looks like? Possibly they are not aware of what species their leader is, correct me if I'm wrong and it is stated somewhere that they do. I guess the fact that Leia references Snoke may mean that he has been a public figure at some point however that is merely just speculation from us and there could be other reasons behind this. I am not saying this is what I believe but throwing it out there as a possibility, as manipulation is certainly something the higher ranked First Order officers would use to control their forces.

Exactly I want co clear serious problem if they placed alien Snoke out of desperation for having powerfull non-Sith main vilain.
I realy don't know how they gona install alien in racist human military organisation for Star Wars fandom not to stick that question in their eyes forever.
There is possibility they didnt discussed the problem at all, just throw in some Alien..but that is multibillion dolar project...

How would a trained and patritic Imperial professionals from the Imperial"cadre" allow to be controled by an Alien, if that one was already not in the chain of command or some other Imperial dignitary?

I mean, a mind controling alien that cames and hypnotises Imperials with is glooming eyes, .that will be cheapest blunder of all time.

Mystery. Unless of course he is not an alien but so changed not to be a human anymore, or some strange alchemy happened, some transfer of the body, in which case its all again not nice, to much convoluted.

If only Pablo would read this, just for them to knew if its something like that to know they screwed it, take showel and start to dig at Plagueis grave.

Dosent that sound familiar to you? Palpatine mind controled the whole jedi order and the senate in the prequels...

Btw I would like the idea of an only-human organisation not beeing lead by a human. The irony...
And I asume Snoke is just using the FO for his goals only. When he dosent need them anymore, they are going to get tossed away.

After classic human racist Palpatine who didn't alowed for alien to drive a single Tie fighter not to mention command a fleet, we have sneaky 2.4 meters (7 ft) tall alien, who is damaged, commanding imperials.Obviously they have good explanation for this irony, I am sure....

Completely agree with this. I would be very surprised if Snoke was mind controlling people though. Despite being predominantly racist I think the First Order would recognise that they may need the assistance of a non-human to achieve their goals and aid their quest for power. After losing the Emperor and Vader they would be in dire need of a figurehead or powerful being to follow which is probably when Snoke stepped out of the shadows as both were vulnerable and both needed each other to complete their goals. Given this context i think it is understandable how a 'humanoid but not human' being could be allowed to rise to so much power in their ranks.

If there will be no Operator or Unindentified fleet admiral, who is already canon, in novel Aftermath, who is already pulling the strings and reorganizes Imperial forces after the Endor. He will be certainly First leader the First Order had.

Why would they make for instance so complex wounds on Snoke (they talk about past events and require explanation) if he is some random Alien that came and took command of the First Order in the Unknown teritories?

Yes, and it's heavilly implied that the Operator is Brendol Hux. Snoke must have taken power from him.
From encountering Sidious and Plagueis, who disfigured him and took his wings, and then kept him from dying. That's my current thought, anyway.

Yes I agree Brendol Hux seems to be very important. Father of Hux junior. He was radical admiral from Imperial academy, he even designed Training of stormtroopers from birth.
He beleived Imperial army is not good enough he wanted to perfect them.

He also had secret military organisation on his own, a small circle of elite officers ...he asked for officers to kill his "weaker" friend officer to get to this circle!! Empire military investigated those strange events.

He is very likely the Operator from Aftermath. In the Aftermath after Endor he lures some admirals in to a trap, he gives coded information about their location to the rebels, and than Rebels destroy those admirals (battle of Akiva), in ordef for him to became only leader of the Remnants of the Empire. He than orders organized retreat in to unknown Regions of the Galaxy.

In Bloodline it is clearly stated he left all to go to Unknown Regions of Galaxy with the rest of Empire Forces.

So Imperial forces that retreated into unknown had a strong and capable leadership. All of them humans.

Where from and how came a 7 foot rusty old Dark alien sorcerer?

The key moment I believe could be event mentioned in Aftermath. The Operator, admiral was supposed to be Dead.
However he returns which was a shock for other Admirals who obviously did not liked him.
The novel says that only small circle of officers knew about his return! (look Hux biografy I mentioned!)

What happened to him? Who was he actually after he returned ? Was it he anymore, or an alien?

Nah, if B Hux came back looking like an alien corpse, no one would believe it was actually him.

However, Diathim can appear to look like a member of the species they are targeting, and have a natural aura of trust. Also:

"For some reason, time did not seem to affect Iego, as supposedly castaways no longer felt the burden of age or hunger. It was said that Humans who served in the Great Sith War could still be alive on Iego millennia later."

So not only do we have an explanation for why Kylo's lightsaber might look very old, and why an alien might know old Kyber weapon technology, but it's also the sort of planet Plagueis and Sidious would be interested in.
