Really because the casting director for GoT doesnt just cast Brunettes but yes lets deny culpability for KK.

for some reason’ she keeps thinking white brunette women are the most ideal people to get the roles. Even if she’s doing it unconsciously, it doesn’t change the fact that’s racism and excludes women of color.
She seems very passionate when she talks about rey and jyn but when Kelly came in stage on swc, nothing. She was saying how glorious Rey is but not one single word about Kelly. She talks about this “girl power” a lot but when it’s about races, ethnicities and diversity she doesn’t say anything? It’s always the directors who sat next to her who speak about it, or actors of color themselves. Her "girl power” only involves white women and yet she said star wars represented the world.

 

race is actually one of the biggest things. Casting usually goes like this: actors are submitted, then the CDs whittle them down to bring them in for auditions. Then they finally hold screen tests and then cast with a deal memo/contract. If they dont cast you because of your race it's because they're going for a specific look. I'm sure you know that TFA's leads were written without gender/race, right?

TFA was littered with GOT actors, and Emilia Clarke gets cast in the Han Solo. I never said the casting director had an agenda, just that it's not surprising Emilia Clarke is in the Han Solo film.

British actors and actresses are definitely more in demand than actors from any other country. Mostly because of the way they are trained. Also because America loves anything and everything British. The most popular actors working atm are more often than not British.

Emilia Clarke is by far the most popular actress to come out of GOT. The other most popular female actress is Sophie Turner who got cast as Nebula in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies.

He had Girls, Inside Llewyn Davis, Steven Speilberg's Lincoln. Also, Adam Driver was J J Abrams pick.

 

youre getting confused. that's the job of an EP typically. Producers are in charge of making sure the movie gets made regardless of trouble. Casting confirmations are really built on gut feeligns of the producers and teh casting directors at the end of the day and KK probably just happened to like who was ultimately cast.

Lol the idea that Clarke is going to give Star Wars a boost worth noting. She made Terminator profitable right.....oh wait...the era of the action star in Hollywood is pretty dead and Clarke is not changing that. She is no Will Smith at his height or Tom Cruise or The Rock.

My math says that is 0.5 Years. Of Course, I more interested in the number of auditions. Assuming they did an actual global search you gotta figure a lot of that was dead time for Daisy.

How many fans of Game of Thrones do you think aren't going to watch Star Wars?
How many of those fans do you think are only going because Clarke is in it?

Dont worry its not just a Clarke problem...RDJ and Chris Evans do great in MCU movies outside not so hot.

I say only Leo and The Rock have shown lately to have reliable Box Office Star Power. Clarke aint on that level and is extremely unlikely to ever get close.

My main point stands the idea that Clarke is going to move the dial for Star Wars is patently absurd.

 

True. But there's a greater chance of her benefitting the movie franchise than any of the other actresses you named.
