If you did it was another B'omarr Monk monastery. That's what Jabba's palace was before he took it over.

I didn't know that. It was real quick L to R shot and it kind of blended in with the rocks.

According to the cast credits, the elderly, balded Imperial officer talking to Tarkin in RO was officer Romodi, previously a silent participant at the Death Star conference in ANH.

Anyone else sad that they didn't show Biggs or Wedge in this movie? or at least in the back ground. Where was Chopper at? I seen the movie two times and I missed it both times.

Wedge would have been great, but I'm glad we didn't see Biggs and relieved his name didn't show up in the cast credits (because this would have raised some tough questions what he was doing on Tatooine at the Toshi Station in the deleted ANH Scenes - after all, this scene suggested he was about to leave Tatooine about the same time as Luke).

Amazing how they put the original footage of Red and Gold Leader into the battle, hadn't seen this one coming.

Wow! I did not even notice that it was original footage. I thought they found lookalikes or something!

Good point. I totally forgot about that deleted scene. I was honestly looking for Wedge more than Biggs. The shots of Red and Gold Leader suprised me aswell. I just happy that we finally got to see Y-Wings being used as bombers outside of video games and books.

As I said before I read Gareth Edwards had full access to the Lucasfilm archives, including ANH footage and dialogue we've never seen/heard before...So apparently it was some mix between "new" (deleted never seen) and old scenes...Awesome!

Wedge could not be in the battle of Scarif because he hardly knew the Death Star until the episode IV....

Yeah, good point ("Look at the size of that thing!"). Maybe he had lines in the Massassi temple on Yavin, there was plenty of activity in there to slip in a quick voice cameo.

Yeah, I remember the "LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THAT THING!" line.

Indeed. And ten minutes later we see her reaching for a random astromech droid to send the plans to General Kenobi.

The only significant Star Wars-related thing I could find so far was June 8, 1965 - Twins Paul and Stephen Youll are born.

Paul Youll is an artist and illustrator who specializes in science fiction and fantasy. He created the cover illustrations for the X-Wing series as well as Tales from the New Republic, the original paintings of which are now owned by George Lucas.[1] Youll lives in the United Kingdom.

His twin brother Stephen, with whom he has collaborated, has also been the cover artist for several Star Wars books.

I'm not sure if that's what/who they're trying to reference, though. It seems like a bigger, not-so-hidden Easter Egg that would be something like the release date of one of the movies (which it's not), or something like that. But maybe they were an inspiration for some of the important shots, so Gareth Edwards (or a writer) decided to give them a big Easter Egg.

I like to think that Cpt. Antilles' death played a part in motivating Wedge to join the Rebellion (not sure if canon contradicts this), so in a way I guess I appreciate them holding off with Wedge.

I don't think they're related. In the old EU, Antilles was basically the "Smith" of the SWU.

i thought i saw Biggs, but maybe i was mistaken? would have been during the battle above Scarif.

one thing that i remember Donnie Yen's character saying is that at the heart of some stars there's a kyber crystal. this makes sense for Starkiller Base in TFA.
