    Hmmm. I truly feel that Daisy Ridley and John Boyega have a natural chemistry. It tranfers very well onto the screen. I just don't feel it in my gut that they will have a romance at any point in the sequel trilogy. But that's just me.

    This is probably gonna be a thing in episode VIII. The romance always came in second act of the OT and PT. I don't see that changing. Also rumor is the female lead opposite finn had her part shrunk. But this whole sub plot is gonna be fairly small. And the whole rey is jedi so no attachment, dont hold water with me. If rey is Luke's daughter like everyone thinks that puts the whole no attachment thing out the window.

    I agree.This .gif you upload here...That hug between them was REALLY beautiful and very emotional.Both was GREAT in this movie.This NEW trilogy for me has a lot of power and emotions in it.I love this movie...:).

    It seems likely. The only other possible mate is Poe but they never met in the movie.

    I strongly doubt it. From the casting rumors they are looking for another female actress who will probably play Finn's love interest. Rey's journey will probably take her deeper into the force. I think her conflict will be to accept the fact that a Jedi needs to make sacrifices for the greater good of the galaxy and her conflict will come from having to make that decision.

    Well, there was a rumor that they had cast a black woman named gugu, age 32, the Internet being the Internet, before the first movie even came out...jumped to the obviously well thought out conclusion, she was boyegas, age 23, love interest.

    Then she goes on to state in an interview that she wasn't involved with star wars at all.

    Who knows. Maybe it's more misdirection.

    I agree that they had great chemistry. And I agree that the chemistry that they have doesn't necessarily have to translate to a romance. I think it would be just as well suited as a brother/sister or BFF type of chemistry. Every hero needs a sidekick. Finn may be just that for Rey, and it may work best for both characters. Either could have a different love interest (or no love interest) and maintain that chemistry.

    Yea BFF sounds more practical and in tune with how they're relationship was presented. As far as the sidekick thing. I respect your opinion. Rey is definitely our main hero. I doubt Finn is a mere Tonto, Kato, Robin, Bucky Barnes or Watson. I feel he holds more weight than that. Having said that I'm thankful for a fresh writer in Rian Johnson. Now that we have experienced the whole JJ/Kasdan approach, I think the moment is ripe for a new mind to be introduced. Let's see how much leniency Kathleen Kennedy has this time around. If Finn is to have a relationship in this trilogy, He's going to have to step it up. I would like to see Finn tip the scale and win more one on one battles. He's going to need to have a more serious confident tone if he's going to catch the attention of whomever his new love interest turns out to be.

    Sidekick maybe was the wrong word. I can't see him being a Tanto/Robin/etc. either. I was thinking more in the sense of what Han was to Luke.

    like others, i think they make better BFFs than a romantic couple. as they are both sort of orphans who found one another, they strike me more as siblings.

    that said, i do think this trilogy is going to throw out the Jedi-attachment rule as probably what's kept the Force out of balance all this time. it's just going to happen in an unexpected way.

    Based in the novelization I'd say not. I think they will be great friends but I think there will something between her and Poe.
