    Didn't Luke throw his green saber off to the side at the end of ROTJ? I thought this was a pivotal moment for Luke. He was done fighting.

    Did he throw it 30 feet away and as his father is dying go.. "oh yeah, gotta run over there and pick up my lightsaber that I tossed to the side" ??

    Maybe Luke won't have a lightsaber at all, perhaps he'll be more like the original Yoda we knew from ESB - a strong force user with no need for a sword.

    If anything I believe he'll use his/Anakin's saber if he's reunited with it. Finn/Rey will be required to build their own anyway as part of their training.

    Luke retrieved his Saber whilst fleeing the Death Star. I think for whatever reason Luke is hiding it might be wise to have a weapon around incase sh*t goes down.

    Im waiting for it to fall into my backyard!!!! What a fun day that will be!!!!... As far as the floating hand rumor, I always that is was being referred to as Anakin's old saber that he last in ESB when papa chopped his hand off. As far as the movie goes, his hand wasn't cut off while using the green saber. Plus it was hanging from his belt when he walks up during the celebration at the end of ROTJ.
