Exactly, if those people that left her are her family it must've been the only choice left in a very dangerous situation.
I don't believe for a second Luke would've left her with him. Luke was powerful. He could've protected her and taken her somewhere else.
Her parents however would've been no match for the KOR and just had to make sure she was safe from them.

Not really. People continue to exaggerate her accomplishments in TFA. And it'd be extremely easy to set her up for a fall going forward. I can think of multiple possibilities right off the top of my head. As for "Mary Sue," calling her just show that some people have no clue what that term actually means.

I said that maybe he didn't know BEFORE. Like he only learned about her recently.

    I
It irritated me when she used the Jedi mind trick, the Stormtrooper was funny but how Rey just happens to try a mind trick as her powers are awakened felt forced.
It's hard to judge when Reys history is hidden from us.
Is she just a super powerful freak like Annakin or someone fully trained that has lost her mind?
I don't know but the wait for answers will be frustrating : /

Not really. She used it AFTER Kylo started digging around in her mind. And she knows about the "stories" of the Jedi/Luke Skywalker. AND it takes her three tries to get it right. So even that's not that hard to buy.

I didn't liked the prequels and got the same treatment you're describing.
Just take a while, see it by a funny side (always look at the bright side of life), lets be honest even if you hated the new trilogy you will always gonna watch any new movie because is StarWars.
As for "bad ratings" just forget it, who is judging you? if they did an IQ test in order to enter this foruns they should be nearly empty so why care? as long you don't ofend anyone.......

So far I only really like the OT.
I will give VIII and Rogue one a fair chance.
I will not quit the franchise yet, I'am currently reading "Heir to the Jedi"
A wise and friendly sentence this is. (I appreciate it)

    So do I !!!!

I only really, REALLY, liked the OT Movies, and sometimes i wonder if i outgrow starwars but i keep watching the OT Movies and still love them in the same way. TFA is good, not amazing, but fair and entertainment.

But the SW Expanded Universe (Books, Comics and Video Games) kept me going for years.

This is my problem, she was left behind on Jakku as little girl, she can't be fully trained.
I guess the Jedi mind trick scene was just a funny hommage of the scene with Obi Wan at Mos Eisley. (it's irritating without logic)
I don't care about the answer, from a writing standpoint they make things up that don't work for me, I'am more curious about Rogue one right now.

I guess we are sitting in the same boat or in a nearby one.

I enjoyed watching TFA in the cinema, but I recognized the flaws.
No doubt it's a competent made movie with a good pace and they borrowed much from the OT that I liked, but that's it.
My conclusion is that TFA is a political correct dumbed down version of ANH.

I honestly think it will be revealed in Episode IX who she is, it will be hinted at in Episode VIII but wont be fully known or confirmed until Episode IX

Would be a very late reveal then, I think it will be in VIII. (in Act II to get it out of the way for the grand finale in IX)

Having a late reveal would honestly work than revealing it exactly midway through the trilogy, have her at her lowest probably in the final fight between Kylo Ren and he reveals that they are cousins, Luke is her father (especially if Luke is already dead at this point), Han Solo is her uncle and Vader is their grandfather or what not, she feels betrayed that Han, Leia and Luke never told her, her true origins and has to make that final light or dark side decision to end the trilogy.

How can she be a clone? Males have XY, women have XX.

    It makes no sense.

What? A character without flaws who is liked by everyone and never fails that violates preestablished lore in order to provide wishfullfilment at the expense of tension?

What is there not to understand?

I wholeheartedly agree. While she might be hyper-competent, she is far from the unrealistically perfect super-Jedi that she's being painted as.

Let's look at what Finn did for the Resistance:
    • Saved Poe from the First Order.
    • Completed Poe's mission.
    • Saved Rey on Jakku.
    • Gunned down several Stormtroopers, a handful of TIEs, and damaged a Star Destroyer.
    • Revealed important First Order secrets to the Resistance.
    • Got Captain Phasma to lower the shields.
    • Helped rescue Rey.
    • Got a good hit in on Kylo Ren and survived being maimed.
Let's look at what Poe did for the Resistance:
    • Retrieved the data that he would give to BB-8; covered the droid's escape.
    • Spared Finn, which led to his mission being completed.
    • Gave in to torture and revealed secret information.
    • Evaded a Star Destroyer.
    • Took down numerous TIEs.
    • Saved Han, Chewie, Maz, and Finn.
    • Blew up a planet to save billions of innocent lives, ensured the survival of the Resistance, and delivered a painful blow to the First Order.
    • Indirectly saved Finn and Rey as a result of blowing up Starkiller Base.
Let's look at what Rey did for the Resistance:
    • Saved Finn a few times.
    • Got herself captured by the First Order due to running off in the middle of nowhere.
    • Gunned down two Stormtroopers.
    • Resisted torture and kept information hidden from Kylo Ren - information which, I might add, was already in the hansd of the Resistance at that point.
    • Defeated Kylo Ren, but only temporarily.
People are really missing the forest for the trees. Rey generally has contributed to the survival of a few people, but as far as the war goes, she hasn't accomplished much. Technically speaking, her only contribution to the war effort was saving Finn before the third act of the film. Otherwise, her accomplishments are largely based around moving the story forward as opposed to winning the war.

When did Finn saved Rey in Jakku ?

    BTW, I don't care about Rey's parents.

He heard the TIE fighters coming and told her to run. She would have been captured/killed otherwise.

But isn't all of this super offtopic?

That, and he provided cover fire. They saved each other, and that much is apparent in that "Oh my God, I can't believe we actually did it!" conversation that happened when everything was stabilized.

As for being off-topic, I'd prefer that than for this to degenerate into a "REI IZ TEH MAIREE SOO!!!1One!!" thread.

I believe they be revealed in 8, but also I think we will be as shocked as she will be discovering who they are. Because the one who left her on Jakku will not be her parent/parents, unless it was her mom(Leia)

It may come out as she actually is Han and Leia's and Leia kept it a secret from Han, so Kylo would never know. Maybe she was born after what Kylo had done and Han left. Not twins but brother and sister.

She was left on Jakku where LST is and Leia happens to know him.

Oh yes, you are not alone, I cheer for Lex Luthor as well.

Now then, I think the concept of Rey being an Uber Jedi can work. Albeit risky, It's possible.
I don't think the villains need to be super powerful. As a matter of fact, I think the ST would be much more interesting if the main villain was the underdog and had to find other means to win. We've already had two trilogies involving the main villain being the all powerful so why not go a different direction.
By the way it's not like Rey can't learn anything from being an Uber Jedi. She could still learn the values of humility.
