OFFICIAL NEWS Episode VII Subtitle Revealed!!

Exactly... The production hats just have VII on them, and while I know the title had not yet been revealed, they aren't just gonna dump VII now that it has...

 

How about this: The Force is balanced at the end of ROTJ and purposefully goes dormant. It chooses not to make itself felt or known. It exists, but is asleep (as others have said) because all is right in the galaxy. Luke has gone hermit, unsure of what to do with himself after The Force stopped guiding him. He has tried to awaken it himself, eager to feel its guidance, but he can't. He has sought out ways to conjure it back, but ultimately goes insane trying and goes into hiding. But evil and good cannot stay balanced for long and something wakes The Force up. It makes its presence known to a new sojourner. That sojourner is guided to seek out Luke by The Force. Leia might feel it too. This can cue up the OT cast being summoned as they would have insight into the last great galactic battle. This allows a fresh audience to learn about The Force and introduce new characters, as if experiencing ANH the first time 30 years ago.

Speculation is fun!

 

How about this... the Sith were subjugated and basically exiled. The Jedi have been annihilated... now is the time for the Force to Awaken, and a new generation of Force wielders will arise...

Possibly. I like my idea that, there only being one trained Jedi is causing the force to be under utilized. So it starts looking for new adepts to flow from. It's part of the Universe, it finds a way to flow, like a river. Luke, by refusing to use his potential is causing it to flow in other directions. It finds a way, therefor it's Awakened in a new generation of future jedi and possibly sith.

Yeah... the force has found a way back into the Universe through new force sensitives after 30 years of not really being needed or used.

 

Now THAT'S the good stuff, right there!

 

Guys the opening crawl will still say episode vii I think this section should be called episode vii the force awakens not just the latter

 

LOVE this. It would be cool to see title logos like this for the new trilogy. Maybe even give the TFA logo bronze lettering, EP8 silver and EP9 gold.

 

I was catching up on several posts and assumed this had already been said when I made above post just to clarify it has been said that the episode heading is only being removed for promos the crawl will still begin like this

I don't think anyone doubts this. I think some want Episode VII in the LOGO/TITLE that'll appear on posters/toys/Etc.

 

I never called Empire Strikes Back, Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back okay? Let this new generation of films stand alone.

They could have called it "Send in the Clones" and filked the theme song...

 

I like it, I thought The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones were lame... oh well. Can't wait!
