It's just a good optimistic article about the future of Star Wars. Has a good take on what Disney has done with Marvel and can do with SW.

    STAR WARS
    EPISODE VII
    THE FORCE AWAKENS

Peace! With the Emperor down the drain and Darth Vader rethinking his life,
the Force has finally found balance. In perfect harmony once more,
it dozed off as there was nothing much going on with the Sith Lords out of the moving picture...

Pursued by age, LUKE SKYWALKER, custodian of the Force,
races through the hallways of the nursing home on his modified walker,
seeking his twin sister to warn her of impending danger as he wonders
how Lando Calrissian fits into all of this....

The Force is waking up, and when it sees how LUKE has spent
his time levitating assorted fruit, it will be VERY grumpy. He should have
passed on what he has learned, and now his failure will be complete.
His only chance is to find his sister and train her in the ways of the Force before it's too late...

I find it fascinating that we're getting all these "leaks" yet none of these "insiders" knew or leaked the title. Interesting . . . .

I read your original post back on page one, and all I see is you offering your honest opinion. Nothing at all wrong with that.

I happen to like the film's title, but that doesn't make your opinion any less valid.

Heck, if everyone here, and everyone in general always agreed on everything all the time, the world would be a pretty boring place.

Fanmade crawl from over at the Jedi Council Forums. I love it. The text is pure fan fiction but still be cautious. You never know what spoilery thoughts float around :) See the fan prediction about the subtitle ;)

In greater hindsight, I like The Force Awakens a lot.

Here’s why. I put myself in the shoes of the people who were tasked with naming it. They were likely briefed to nail a few points:

    -Title must not be complicated
-Title must remind people of the OT and what Star Wars is about
-Title should not allude to politics or use foreign language i.e. new terminology
-Title must leverage language exclusive to the Star Wars saga

It’s a bit more difficult than everyone thinks. I’ve seen many, many attempts to write a better one in this thread, and on other messageboards…
    80% of them are worse.

Back to the titling challenge. If you’re tasked to leverage lingo from the Star Wars lexicon,
you’re likely going to have the following potential names/words on your list:

    -Skywalker
    -Jedi
    -Sith
    -Droid
    -Darth Vader
    -Death Star

But all of those are surface level words. There is only one word (okay, two words) that transcends character name, place, location, or weaponry.

    THE FORCE.

You can’t even say/read it without feeling something. A belief in something bigger out there. And how we each play a part in something grander.

Star Wars has always been about The Force. And it always will be.
Glad to be on this wild ride with all of you.

I know. It was more a way to sign off and tag it for myself, plus promote the usage of the # in channels where it would work. But thanks for pointing that out.

yup.. and still no character names. i get that strange dark side feeling each day that we know next to nada about these films lol

some good points ikkle Bobo ;)

another factor to consider is the subsequent films... they (you know.... them) may well have needed to title all 3 of the trilogy at the same time or at least come up with a short list. it's all gotta make some kind of sense at the end of the day.. and i'm sure it will.

I couldn't agree more. As I stated in my previous two posts (pages 9 & 12) this title refers to what Star Wars is all about. It is the perfect way to set up the next part of the story by mentioning the one thing that ultimately plays the 'puppet master' in a galaxy far far away. The Force is obviously something the Jedi serve, and the Sith abuse, but the Force isn't just about those two factions, far from it. The Force serves a bigger purpose, which is its ultimate affect on life.

There are always going to be people who dislike/hate it, and those who like/love it. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion of course. For me, it is one of the best titles for an 'episode' of Star Wars ever created.

If the film lives up to the title, then we may all be agreeing with what Anthony Daniels said come December 18th.

Thank you kind sir! At the time of making an account I was watching Lord of the Rings on T.V. funnily enough.

I share the same first name as Frodo's ever concerned friend and it solved my thirty minute dispute (with myself) as to what the hell my username should be.

It was not made out of arrogance I should note, but out of pure relief that I could finally stop lurking after two years and join the crusade.

Even though a SW title is very basic at its core, I enjoy that it can have multiple meanings as we all can speculate for the next year.

Interesting on Wookieepedia it says ...

On November 6, 2014, the official Star Wars Twitter account announced that the film had completed principal photography. The post gave the official title for the film as Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and was accompanied by a title card for the new name that, unlike previous films, excluded the "Episode" subtitle

The OT films were never sold as Episode IV, V, or VI as they only appeared on the crawl. I assume Lucas put the Episode Number on all promotional material for the Prequels, so the average fan would understand they were before the Original Movies. I like them better without the episode number, because it will bring up a generation of new SW fans calling them by their title name and not by the episode number.

Very true. I just found another quote, though.

In November 2014, the title of the film was officially announced as Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Despite previously being known simply as Star Wars Episode VII, and not having Episode VII in the title, Episode VII will be featured in the opening crawl.
