Anakin's Theme is wonderful. Duel of the Fates is a great theme too, and was well used in each Prequel. I wouldn't mind hearing it again in the Sequels, if not for the fact that it wouldn't fit, being absent from the Originals. Wish the Duel of the Fates/film version of the Yoda/Sidious and Anakin/Obi-Wan duels was on the soundtrack (I don't believe they are?).

The Federation Theme certainly isn't bad either. I also really like Qui-Gon and Padme's Funerals.

Across the Stars is obviously great. I love the beginning, and 2:46-3:32, of Bounty Hunter's Pursuit, as well as Confrontation with Dooku and End Credits. I love the Imperial March hints in the Clone Army theme.

The Order 66 and Anakin/Obi-Wan/Mustafar tracks in Sith are all very powerful. Grievous Speaks to Lord Sidious, and Palpatine's Teachings (Plagueis may not equal Snoke character-wise, but he sure does music-wise!) are also great. Padme's Ruminations is brilliantly haunting and heartbreaking at the same time, and the perfect marriage of music and imagery in that part of the film has always stuck with me, to the point where I've always hoped the ST could see Luke standing in the Jedi Council Chambers looking out the window in the same way, in a kind of full-circle way. That image has also stuck with me, since the ST announcement.

The Birth of the Twins and Padme's Destiny, as well as A New Hope and End Credits, are both very emotionally moving.

Yoda and the Younglings, along with the Force and Yoda Themes from Empire, are very emotional for me too. The magic of the Force, and the affection and admiration thay the films, and their characters, show towards Yoda are all very easily felt in these themes. I would expect Yoda, in Force Ghost form, to make a brief appearance in VIII, and have pieces of those themes played over his scene. I'd love to hear Yoda and the Younglings again in that scene as well. It'd be pure magic in the theatre.

    Do you mean this scene?:
    upload_2016-5-1_17-31-23.jpeg
If so, that's not a hint, it's a hammer to the head.
Of course, I could easily be mistaken by what you mean.

Lol, yes, that scene exactly. Just some very slight, minor, underhanded, hints. Haha.

I also love the scene in Tipoca City, where we first see the fully armored Clone Troopers. I find it a bit odd that the Federation March was used there in that first instance, though.

I can understand some major bashing of the PT, but nobody can say that John Williams dropped the ball. Some of his best most beautiful and most original music came from them.

Oh gee, where the heck do I begin.
Well from Phantom menace it'd have to be "Duel of Fates" for (hopefully) obvious reasons and "The Tide Turns" (the score that plays when the trade federation ship is exploding) with its upbeat, heroic tone, is one of my favorites for sure.

For Attack of the Clones it'd have to be "Across the Stars" and of course that Republic Army theme with the clones marching toward the end of the film. Splicing in the Imperial March (as hamfisted as it was) was still a really nice touch I enjoyed.

And for Revenge of the Sith I'd have to go for the "Order 66" score, and the entire score for the Duel on Mustafar.

If it wasn't for old John Williams, I probably wouldn't have enjoyed the prequels nearly as much as I do.

    I'm going with these:

Phantom Menace: 1. The Flag Parade, 2. Passage Through the Planet Core, 3. Duel of Fates (a bit obviously, it seems!)

Attack of the Clones: 1. Arrival on Kamino, 2. Zam the Assassin / Chase Through Coruscant, 3. Love Pledge and the Arena (album version), 4. Confrontation With Dooku / Finale ... and pretty much all the more mysterious music throughout #2.

Revenge of the Sith: Uhhh... the whole thing. I guess highlights for me are Palpatine's Teachings (love those deep vocals) and pretty much the entire third act of the film. But however you feel about the film, ROTS is an exercise in compositional brilliance to me.

Wew...Now I have to listen to it all again to make that kind of judgement. But from the feeling I have for the PT, the whole thing: there is not even one bad track found...Maybe I am wrong...But there was none that made me think of it as unfitting or bad.

    Final judgment maybe later.

I confirmed what you say about the ending theme of TFA the last time I heard the theme played by a symphonic... I had goosebumps when a lone instrument transitioned from Rey's Theme to The Force Theme, and in my head I could see Luke and the ending scenes of TFA. Simply amazing.

But as you said, ROTS is great too. It gives you the proper perspective of hope my mixing both themes we already know - "Princess Leia's Theme" and "Binary Sunset/The Force Theme". Interestingly, both themes have been at the last bit of both movies - "Princess Leia's Theme" is heard when Leia says Rey "May the Force be with you".

"Palpatine's Dark Teachings" and "Padme's Ruminations" underrated in my book. They stand out so much from the rest of the prequel stuff. They really help to give the scenes a sense of gravitas and destiny. Both scenes are the best in the PT, and in no small part thanks to the music that accompanied them.

"Palpatine's Teachings" is definitely one of my favorites (the film version, "Palpatine's Big Pitch," is even better - the album version cuts off and goes into a different scene, for some reason, so we don't get the full thing. :( ). But it makes terrific atmospheric music if you want something dark and compelling in the background. Just don't listen to it super late at night while reading about the Sith. You might get a little unsettled.

I was playing a tabletop game with some friends in college. The GM was a big fan of using music and sound effects to set mood. So at one point when our party was in particularly creepy area, he broke that one out, looping the creepy bits. That went on for an hour. Legitimately one of the most unsettling sessions I've ever played.

Anakin vs Obi-Wan actually brings a tear to my eye in the Yoda vs Sidious parts depending on my mood :D. John Williams is a Jedi Master :).

The Immolation Scene is my favourite (I especially love the violin crescendo):

Edit: crap, this does too :D.

I think the Obi-Wan/Anakin on Mustafar was the best. I could be wrong though because I normally only listen to the dialogue for that scene, but the music definitely helps the mood there
