The Phantom Menace. I think it's the most solid of the three movies and the least burdened with reactions and George's insecurities. I liked watching Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan on screen. Maul was dope. There were things, of course, I didn't like, but if I am going to watch a prequel, it will most likely be TPM.

That’s actually an excellent choice. I think that the duel of the fates at the end was well choreographed. I also thonk it was essential for the plot of Star Wars to see Anakin as a child. It is shown that his fear and unrest will be symbolic throughout the rest of the PT. This, of course, does lead to him becoming Vader. I.e his fear for loosing the ones he loves.

The Phantom Menace has a charm and an innocence that the other prequels are lacking. It's just a pity it had to be Episode I and not Anakin : A Star Wars Story.

    Revenge of the Sith!

I think it has some of the best pacing,
visuals, art direction and action from any of the SW movies.

    And definitely my favourite score.

For me, it's probably Revenge Of The Sith. Not necessarily as a story well told, but in part because I find it the most visually stunning and beautiful of the prequels. It nailed what AOTC had started.

But also, and more importantly, because of the haunting atmosphere the whole film seemed to have. It was those visuals of course, but also the sounds and the music. It had a hypnotic quality for me, and it felt like there was a constant heartbeat throughout - and I'm not talking about the pacing of scenes, but rather a rhythm that I can't quite place, but has a fixed tempo

I've described it before like it was a version of Star Wars from a dream. A dream you wake up from and think - that wasn't really like Star Wars, and yet somehow I know it was a Star Wars dream. I kind of had a similar feeling about Force Awakens, but in the opposite way - it felt like a dreamed version of Star Wars and you wake up and think - that absolutely WAS like Star Wars. Like, the characters were sort of same but different, and the colours were kind of different, but it was definitely Star Wars!

A lot of my feelings about ROTS were probably enhanced by the fact I missed the opening crawl and the first few moments. I know opening in medias res is a bit of a thing with Star Wars anyway, but really felt like I'd walked into the middle of the wrong screening, to the point where I had to go back out and check I was in the right place. Turned out I'd hardly missed anything, but even as I was watching Anakin and Obi-Wan find Palpatine sat imprisoned on his 'throne', I couldn't shake the feeling I was watching the end of the movie, not the start! But somehow, that initial confusion informed and enhanced my experience of the whole film.

But also, as someone who grew up on the OT, this was "the one". TPM and AOTC were just preamble really. NOW we were watching what we'd waited for, and perhaps a lot of that haunting and hypnotic quality possibly in part comes from just seeing the jigsaw pieces falling into place and forming the final picture. And I always knew, as I'm sure as did many others, that it would end with twin suns overlooking the Lars homestead.

Anyway, I had a weird dream about Star Wars, and Revenge Of The Sith was it!

Mine is Revenge of the Sith by a landslide. To be honest, when I was younger I didn't really get into the movies. But after growing up watching The Clone Wars CGI animated series, and playing Lego Star Wars The Clone Wars, I was sucked in, and I finally got into the Star Wars movies. Without Anakin I would have next to no interest in the series to be honest, I guess that's just what pulled me in.
