You claimed that you didn't want to spoil the episode... And you kind of just did.

Easily the best yet. Really felt OT and the first time this show didn't feel painfully like a show for a fairly young demographic

I'm sure many/most of us here have already seen Call to Action. And even though what I'm referencing occurs in the opening dialogue, just to be safe ...

    SPOILERS

    ...

    ...

    ...

Now we KNOW that Kanan dies. Because Tarkin’s line in ANH to Vader about him being all that’s left of the Jedi could have been looked at as him simply not knowing Kanan. However, now we know that’s not the case. There was also a crap ton of foreshadowing dialogue about making sacrifices for a worthy cause and loved ones. And there's a reason we have a story group now, in order to avoid any seeming plot holes or contradictions. Of course this will get tougher as the canon expands. For now, there actually isn't a ton to wade through. Plus, these people are Star Wars fans ... can't see them missing something like this.

Nice spot! However, the voice actor for Kanan has mentioned the work on series 2 being underway, using the word "we", so unless he voices other characters, we'll see him around for a while at least! Unless he's a force ghost, but I feel that would lack both explanation and sense. I do want Kanan to die though at some point - the impact on the other characters would bring a darker dynamic to the series.

I should have worded the first sentence better. I was just speculating that Kanan does in fact die at some point. Completely agree with you that it won't be this season. Especially because dead character don't sell as many toys. Though I suppose Darth Vader toys keep selling ... but he is an icon. Kanan no, not yet anyways ...

One other tidbit ... for those who questioned how Vader seemed on equal level with Tarkin in terms of authority during ANH ... note how Tarkin adresses the Inquisitor. The tone makes it quite clear that he is higher up on the ladder. He's tied with Vader as 2nd in the Imperical hierarchy. If you read Tarkin, he even kind of questions Vader's place ... likens him to more an enforcer with open season to do as he pleases.

The Tarkin book was awesome, and really gives us a much greater understanding how just how important Tarkin was in the empire, and how his relationship with Vader works. I would recommend it to anyone who loves star wars.

This episode reaffirmed why I am watching the show. Has more of an old school feeling than TCW. It may not be as exciting but it's important ground to cover in the formation of the rebel alliance.

I thoroughly enjoyed the book as well. I like how Tarkin has his suspicions about who Vader is although it seems no one but the emperor really knows. He deduces that Vader is Anakin Skywalker noticing similarities in their bold tactics and given Anakin's close relationship with Palpatine and his sudden disappearance. It just adds to the depth of his insight and wisdom - threats that make him an extremely dangerous foe - that he would conclude something the rest of the galaxy seems clueless about.

I also like how it's not important enough to him to actually ask ... He respected Anakin to a point, yet it's clear he has little time for the Force

I haven't read the book yet, but in ANH he knows vader was a jedi. If it was widely known that vader was a former jedi, and jedi are the "evil" beings that tried to destroy the republic, I just assumed most knew he was formerly anakin.

That's a fantastic point. In the book it's clear he strongly speculates Vader to be Anakin. But in the movie, he at least knew he was a Jedi. So I guess he finds out for sure at some point.

Is it just me or did the "Imperial March" theme play subtly in "Vision of Hope" when Ezra glared menacingly at Travys ... ala TCW when Anakin did something dark?

    I haven't read this so I don't know what it's about. But here's a rumor from a French site via jedinews.UK.

RUMOR: Is Ahsoka Tano Part Of Star Wars Rebels Cast?:
A potentially giant spoiler relating to Ahsoka... http://t.co/dsKgIQ1RX7 #StarWars

I pulled up the website Jedi News mentions and translated it to English. There is a Frensh voice actress who will be providing the voice of Ahsoka Tano/Fulrum. Obvioiusly since this is a French actress, it will be the French dub of the series. I'm sure Ashley Eckstein will be providing the English voice.

Without reading it I kinda thought that that's what it was about. The Ahsoka/Fulcrum part. Thanks.

This is a pretty interesting scoop from MSW: Ahsoka Tano, Darth Vader, and Emperor Palpatine are all in the Season Two premiere. That would make for a stronger case that Ahsoka/Fulcrum is in the Season One finale, as I've suspected. Jason also confirmed that Ashley Eckstein and James Earl Jones are back in their respective roles, but neither Ian McDiarmid or Tim Curry are covering Sheev this time around. I would say that Sam Witwer is covering that, given that he was confirmed to be attached to the show some time ago.

Awesome!!! I just read the article ... though I rolled my eyes a bit with the pat-yourself on the back style of reporting.
