Even using Ben-Kenobi teachings of "certain point of view" I have difficulty to comprehend why departure with ship and leaving Rey in the hands of ugly Unkar Plug , doesn't mean they left her?

 

I'm making my assumptions on that she is owned by Unkar Plutt; and they(Luke & Ben) were not able to take her away from Unkar Plutt, for whatever reason. I compare it to when Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan stumbled across Anakin and were succesful in taking him away, where Luke and Ben failed on taking Rey away. So technically they're not leaving her behind, because she doesn't belong to them. They are just leaving without her.
I would hate to think that she came with Luke and Ben and was dropped off in the hands of Unkar Plutt, that would really bother me, along with everyone else, oblivious.

 

TBH this is all in a myst for now. Rey could see in her visions maybe not only real events but visualisation of her feelings, in a way like a dreams..."why whoever has left me in that dump near Unkar Plutt, (Unkar is a symbol of her suffering and lonliness, not necessary a real "uncle" that she was left with.)

 

Your right about that...December can't get here soon enough; hopefully we will have some answers then. But I have this sinking feeling that we might have even more questions!

 

They are masters of rising questions. I hope this "hiding of the clues" is not serving its own purpose to keep us puzzled so we go to movie, but that it also holds a truly remarkable story.

 

I don't get where this Rey was a slave/ owned by Plutt theory that some people are pushing these days. Since when do slaves get paid? She was a scavenger, it's how she put food on the table if you will. She lived a free life, sad and lonely but free. She could have left at any time and don't forget was offered a job by Han, but she never left and declined the job because she hoped /expected her family to return.

 

I partially agree. Only partially because of how big her earnings were and it what wayshe received them. What she got from her scavenge allowed her to barely survive. Besides, she didn't earn any actual money, only food packs, which aren't exactly what would be considered a currency. So sure, she was "free" - Unkar never forced her to scavenge but without him and his portions she would have died of hunger. In my opinion, she was not a free person.

 

Well said Pawek_13, she's not free by any means. I bet if Rey tried to run Plutt would have his henchmen track her down. Then she would be in an even worse situation. So she plays by the rules and waits for whoever to come back for her. The fact that she is allowed to go anywhere is because Plutt knows she will bring back valuable parts and so he gives her some leeway. Don't forget she is working for Plutt and he determines what she gets for her work. Heck she is even marking how many days she has been there, just like a prisoner does in his jail cell.
