Lol whaa...? And I'm not sure what the difference between the two words are but there's a big difference apparently, although it does confuse me when I know people who are.

I believe "queer " is short for "Gender queer", which I think denotes a feeling that gender, in its typically understood male-female sense, does not apply to a person. There's also "Gender Fluid", which is, from my understanding, separate, in that it denotes a sort of "unstable" or "changing" gender.

I just looked it up and apparently it means like something along the lines of switching back and forth with your sexuality and not conforming to what society defines as "masculine" & "feminine" ""...or something like that, it still confuses me.

'Hitting the Corellian hard' had me re-reading the sentence a few times as I wasn't expecting it (in bloodlines).

not a big factor. Im reading LoTS and I feel like they made Moff a bumb character in it so far. Her story isnt all that in the book. Havent finished but I think she dies. She lacks a story and Belkor has a better character than her. Plus its a novel, seems like a throw away story even its canon.

I'm more than happy for homosexuals within Star Wars, as long as two things happen: 1) it feels natural and isn't blatantly shoved in the face of the audience, nor does the sexuality be the most defining aspect of the character; and, 2) they don't retcon already established characters suddenly as homosexual, like Luke. It'd feel like total pandering, whereas instead you have several new characters who you could instead make homosexual (Finn, Poe, Rey, Hux, Kylo, Kelly Marie Tren, Laura Dern, etc) and represent homosexuality with the GFFA.

I'm in general agreement with @Darth Crackpot's thoughts above.

I'm glad that brain trust (producers, writers, cast, directors, authors) are open to having LGBT characters in the SW universe. Fan enthusiasm is certainly present. As @TheLegendsProject mentioned, Star Wars is for everyone. My concern is when fan enthusiasm borders on demand and expectation. I'll use the SW films as example. For instance, after TFA, I've seen an increasing amount of fan chatter and speculation for a Finn-Poe romance in Episode VIII. (There is certainly an abundance of fanfiction for the romance.) I caution fans enthusiastic for Finn-Poe not to work their chatter up to the point that they feel it must be there in Episode VIII or else. (I'm already seeing some of this type of chatter floating around. ) I think they'll only set themselves up for disappointment if it's not there. (Apologies if I veered too much off topic into the films.)

We've all discussed this together in the past but I just hope it's not pushed in our facing liek saying, "THIS PERSON I GAY THIS PERSON IS GAY" but rather it be a part of the actual story

The worst thing to a written and fictional character that can happen is when his/her only predominant characteristics or opening introduction is to be straight/gay/bi and waving towards the camera...

That is not how character writing works *Annoyed Han Face*

My thoughts on it are this. While I personally don't approve of the lifestyle, I have gay friends and we're cool. I'm sure I do things they don't like too. It is part of our society and will be represented in all aspects. I do not however, like it when a character is thrown into the gay persona for a nod. I don't care to see a token gay character for the sake of having a gay character. Aftermath let me down in that aspect. It offered nothing to the story to reveal that Sinjir was gay. It was a short blip in the story and I feel it was nothing more than an attention grabber for Wendig. Maybe Life Debt will reveal more to that story.

If New Star Wars movies did not include a single LGBT character, would general audiences (domestic and/or international) even notice?

Would having an openly LGBT character hurt the domestic and/or international box office for Star Wars movies?

Regardless of their personal views on the matter, these are the kind of questions likely being asked by the powers that be at the Mouse.

I've honestly enver understood the stigma about LGBTQ...why would/should they ever even care? if a character happens to be that then great but don't let it affect the story, ya know

I know this is an old comment, but Sheev is not gay. It was revealed he actually had a past relationship with a 'nasty' woman.

If it "adds" to the storytelling, then we are assuming that gay relationships are different than straight: therefore: better it doesn' add IMO.

Anyways, I think we won't see this in the films for the time being, as China es a big big market that don't assume homosexuality.

By the way: transexuals are there since AOTC. Zam Wezell!
