You'd be surprised at the animosity and overall douchbagery that goes on in the entertainment industry. TPTB are not above this sort of thing.

Well, the point is, that destroying the Republic wasn't the FO's original plan:

    TFA Script:

GENERAL HUX Supreme Leader, I take full responsibility for th--

SNOKE General! Our strategy must now change.

GENERAL HUX The weapon. It is ready. I believe the time has come to use it. We shall destroy the government that supports the Resistance, the Republic. Without their friends to protect them, the Resistance will be vulnerable, and we will stop them before they reach Skywalker. Snoke considers. Almost seems to die for a moment. Then:

    SNOKE Go. Oversee preparations.

I'm not sure what your point is. That line is terribly written because Snoke clearly knows that the government that supports the resistance is the republic. It's just exposition for the audience.

No, it's not terribly written, you just took those lines out of context.

In what context would Snoke not know that?

Aren’t you contradicting yourself? You say that you don’t have to be part of a certain bloodline to be force sensitive. Then you say that you have to be part of a certain bloodline to be strong in the force. So what you are saying is that anybody can be a jedi, but they must be weak mooks. If they are strong then they are a Skywalker/Kenobi/Palpatine...

To adress some other posts on this thread, about the prophecy of the chosen one. Did we ever get a confirmation that Anakin was the chosen one and that the prophecy was true? To me it was the Jedi order falling to superstition. They thought he was the chosen one, they wanted to believe it. But the PT show us how they were wrong. In ROTS, when ObiWan say "you were the chosen one", I always took it to mean that Obi Wan’s belief were shattered. His belief, however misguided was that Anakin was the chosen one. He was wrong, like the whole Jedi order. In the PT, the Jedi have lost sight of their own goal. They were corrupted, superstitious, meddling in politics and warfare, blinded to the dark side. So that’s how I understand it. The prophecy was just superstition. They encountered a kid, super-strong in the force and born from a virgin and they all got excited: "OMG, it’s 100% certain that is the chosen one!". Maybe Yoda and some other member of the council had doubts about it in TPM, but in the end they prefered to try and control him than let him go.

Now back to Rey. Why is the question of who her parents are important? Because she was traumatised when she was abandoned as a young kid. Having suffered from bullying when I was a kid and being traumatised, I can tell you that it does affect my memory about what happened exactly and how I recall the events. It also affects my personality to this day, 30 years later. Only now, at 40, with the help of a psychologist, am I beginning to understand why it happened and starting to remember all the details. For Rey, there are many mental reactions of defense at play in her mind that leaves her with fuzzy memories and delusions about her parents.

Also, she lives in a tough environment where any sign of weakness will be taken advantage of by others. So she must act strong and confident if she is to survive, she has been doing this for most of her life. She wants to belong, be part of the "gang". And suddenly she finds herself amongst legends and famous people. Han Solo, Chewbacca, Leia... Knowing her past and reality, of course she will want to believe even more strongly that her parents were not a bunch of drunks that abandoned her. She is not ready yet to face the truth.

Finally one big part of the mystery was the fan misleading themselves. It was obvious to me after TFA that she was a nobody. The answer is right there in TFA. Even Maz gave her the answer, but she was not ready to believe it.

He was the chosen one. It was said he was the chosen one by George Lucas and fulfilled

The prophecy was not a Jedi prophecy and in there arrogance they interpreted it to mean a Jedi would fulfill it.

No I don't think I'm contradicting myself, let me elaborate:
Force sensitivity or the potential to use the force was never restricted to having force sensitive parents, in fact most jedi were taken from non force sensitive parents at a young age to train at the temple. This does not mean there was no inheritance at all, it was established in the OT that Anakin's kids were expected to be strong in the force and it was implied in the PT as well when Qui-Gon asked Shmi about Anakin's father.
Anakin's miraculous origin was among other things, a device to explain his unnatural potential with the force. This does not mean in any way that other force users were "weak mooks", in fact, despite Anakin's very high potential, there where many stronger force users than him. This is because potential was always only a part of the equation, becoming a strong force wielder required like most things in life, a lot practice, hard work and dedication.
Now when people say that "the new inspiring message of TLJ is that anyone can use the force, the force belongs to all of us" I find it quite troubling since it doesn't do that at all, in fact it does the opposite. Rey is not anybody in regards to the force, she is extremely gifted, perhaps more than anybody before her, and she accomplishes everything within a couple of days and without any effort whatsoever.
