SPECULATION Knights of Ren

Remember the "Sith General" casting ? Maybe it doesn't mean anything (codename) and he is just some background first order guy but i kind of hope he is something more. He looks oldschool evil.

 

A British actor playing a bad guy General???? In Star Wars????

I think most of the details of the First Order is are in the Empire article. From that it doesn't seem too far of a stretch that Snoke has an "inner circle" and that they consider Vader a martyr and they seek to restore the order he was destined to bring the galaxy.

They represent an angry vengeful group that began in the galactic equivalent of Argentina* and now are rising while a group called the Resistance fights them. The Empire has lost, the Battle of Jakku settled that, but the First Order is seeded from its destruction and a deep obsession to bring their martyr back.

Kylo Ren however is not a Sith. Snoke is a "big deal in the dark side of the force", but he is no Sith master either.

I think Kylo Ren is going to be a great villain, very distinct from Vader, while still deeply consumed by the legend.

*The Empire article essentially quotes JJ as saying, "what would happen if the Nazis escaped to Argentina?" as a question that helped ignite Larry and JJ's idea of what the First Order would be.

 

That's been my assertion since this came out. To him, or his agent, Sith = Star Wars bad guy. He's a First Order general, and not part of some Sith army.

 

Do you think we will see the Knights of Ren in TFA, or will they simply be a point of reference and mention?
The concept art for them certainly implies that they could be shown in the film, but will this be just a brief moment, for example in a rumoured flashback sequence, or will they be present throughout?

 

"After invading the Starkiller Base, one member of the Resistance has split from her group and found herself in a massive room full of First Order soldiers. Completely surrounded by Stormtroopers with blasters and Knights of Ren with lightsabers, she seems to be totally outnumbered." - This is from Rey merchandise. And in the article posted on this website - "It should be noted that Lucasfilm’s Matt Martin has stated that some information here is “editorialized”, and is not necessarily representative of what will happen in the movie."

I'd definitely like to see it happen, but we shall see.

What I don't understand: Why would a toy company editorialize THAT scene. Seems kinda random that they'd just make up a scene with the Knights of Ren. They could've made up a description that was far less specific and descriptive....right?

 

If their is a scene like this, showing the Knights of Ren, or a flashback scene with force awakened jedi battling the Knights of Ren, then i can die happy!

so we have Kylo Ren right? who is one of the Knights of Ren correct? now the only "knights" we have seen were the Jedi Knights who essentially are the peacekeepers. So these "Knights" are what dark Jedi? is this fine line of good and evil that they are talking about? are the Knights of Ren trying to restore the Jedi order maybe because Luke won't at any cost? Is "Ren" their leader? is Ren an actual item ? I think we need to find out exactly who or what "Ren" is and maybe things will become a little more clearer. what ever it is these "knights" seem to be loyal to it.

What if Kylo Ren is a recruiter for the Knights of Ren. If he convinces Rey and Finn to join their names would be Rey Ren and Finn Ren haha.

I don't know the ideology of the Ren, but I would believe if they idolize Vader, that they are a different but very similar "order" as the Sith. If the Sith are a religion, then the Ren are an offshoot faction or denomination, if you will, probably based on their namesake's core doctrine, whatever that is. Personally, I love the idea and hope to see all Seven fire up lightsabers in TFA. But I am probably getting carried away.
