SPECULATION Knights of Ren

Well when you post ''can you read'' it's insulting BTW it's not a members only site, you can post freely just don't comments like that, that's all I have to say about this, move forward.

 

Since we now know the appearance of the character depicted in Indie Revolver's famous "chrome trooper" photograph below is not consistent with what Captain Phasma looks like in the movie, is it possible this character is not a chrome trooper at all but instead a Knight of Ren?



Something which further supports this interpretation is the fact that Indie Revolver seems to suggest in the article in which this photograph was first revealed to the public that their sources were telling them about there being multiple "chrome troopers" in the movie, and they also infer that these "chrome troopers" look just like the person in the picture, except they don't wear hoods (http://indierevolver.com/2014/09/25...ook-at-star-wars-episode-viis-chrome-trooper/). As far as we can tell, there's only one chrome trooper in the movie: Captain Phasma. And on top of that, Phasma's design doesn't really look like what you see in the photograph; her mask is significantly different and she doesn't have the metal collar, a design feature which Indie Revolver seems to say actually made it into the final version of the above costume seen in the actual movie. However, there is now strong evidence that there are multiple Knights of Ren, and the costume in question very much looks like a suit of armor a knight could wear. Also, if it turns out to be the case that certain sources were incorrectly referring to the Knights of Ren as "chrome troopers," this may also explain the confusing rumors about Captain Phasma wielding a lightsaber.

 

I believe it's just concept art. But I could see this being for the Knights of Ren I suppose.

 

It looks way to much like a stormtrooper's helmet, imho, to be anything other than concept art. But an interesting idea ... who knows ...

 

Hey first Post, this is pure speculation
I think the knights of Ren will turn out to be a new faction, Luke takes it upon himself to train the son of Leia and Han, (Ren Solo). Ren learns about Vader and the dark side/light side and rejects both, creating a new order The Knights Of Ren to train force adepts on his own ideas.

Oh and Finn will turn out to have been a member of them who leaves to learn the ways of the Light Side, they try to hunt him down as they don't want the Jedi/Sith Lord way spreading again so he joins the order to hide under the faceless guise of a storm trooper, with Kylo joining up with the first order he is at risk of being discovered and goes on the run once more.

That's definitely a different take on things. So you'd have the Knights of Ren as a very recently formed group. I don't know if I can go along with Kylo being the founder of the group, as J.J. said that he adopted the name 'Ren' after he joined.

 

Thanks, I'm not saying Kylo is the founder, Ren Solo is, and he will be in the later films as the leader of the Knights of Ren.

 

Sorry, I know it's still all speculation, but I don't see "Kylo" being a follower of a group obsessed with his brother as their leader.

 

I know there are rumors that Kylo is a Solo,
1. he might not be
2. If he is, he could be bitter at Ren's leadership and that's why he takes an obsession with all things Vader and joins the First Order

 

Ren Solo?!

 

Not only that, my understanding is that Kylo is his acquired name after joining the Knights of Ren. I don't think it's his actual name in the first place. It's more of an inspired addition to a title, much like the names of the Popes, Sith, etc.

 

Kylo has been said to be a member of a group called the knights of Ren, and that Ren is a title added sort of like Darth with the Sith. So who or what is Ren, I'm saying that the knights of ren are named after a person and speculating that person will be important I.e Ren Solo. Kylo may or may not be a solo as well.

 

I think Ren is just what Snoke, an alien from beyond the Outer Rim and founder of the Knights, calls The Force. So in galactic basic translation they are Knights of the Force.

 

As I said this is speculation, but Driver is Kylo Ren who is a knight of ren, someone else, yet to be revealed prob in ep 8 will be Ren just like the Emperor was not revealed until Empire.

 

at home so will try and elaborate on my thinking
1. JJ said Kylo Ren's name is an indication that he is a knight of Ren and Ren is an honorific title, so what or who is Ren, could be a planet, could be a Mcguffin, could be a person
2. If Kylo was given the Ren part of his name after joining then he is probably not the leader of the Group, though could be very prominent in it.
3. He is strong with the Force, others could be as well
4. we have heard no mention of them before Ep7, yes it could be that they are an ancient order but that sounds like oh yeah now these guys are back and they hid themselves just like the Sith did, why create something like the Sith when you already have the Sith
5. If they are a new order that explains why we hadn't heard of them before and exactly like something a Sith (Snoke) would like to corrupt
6. If they were created recently (last 30 years) it would make sense for someone Important to the arc to have been instrumental in their creation rather than being caught up in someone else's idea
7. There are as far as we know, no Jedi trained children of Luke or Leia who are acting as Jedi, what happened there? Did they not have children? Did they Die? Are they hiding? Are they the bad guy in the first film who joins up with the order and you immediately suspect and the good girl/guy running from the other relative which you also would suspect, now for purposes of the story one of the protagonists of the first story will be, it makes sense, but do you (pardon the expression) blow your load and have all that out in the first film or do you go for a "I am your Father" moment in a later film? I would bet on the latter
8. Any Child of the great Luke Leia or Han is going to be pretty famous/revered in the star wars Universe, so would naming a new Order after one of them be that out of place?
9. just a personal thing but Ren Solo sounds better to me than the rhyming Kylo Solo sounds like something Jabba would say while addressing Han ;p

Anyway there was a wee bit more to it than that but these were some of the more salient points

 

Pure speculation but I believe Snoke is very close to unlocking a secret to a darker evil than has ever been witnessed even under Sidious. Snoke has studied the Force and is obsessed with ancient Sith practices. He may even be a necromancer. He is probably the founder of the Knights of Ren, or at least the successor. He is probably weak, dying and closer than he has ever came before to the Fountain of Youth, except that by discovering it he awakens a much greater evil that is about to be unleashed...
