the last movie I saw was amzing spiderman 2. the sad ending movie was that the gwen had to die at the end of the film left a lot of regret for me and since then the film has not released any more. I watched the movie over and over a dozen times and tried to but couldn't.

I went and saw that new Men In Black movie, even before the bad reviews started coming in I figured it would probably be mediocre at best. And it was mediocre but not terrible. While the originals had some clever writing and direction it was mostly the chemistry of the two leads that made them great. As likable as they may be these two new agents had zero chemistry and weren't funny. The new character Pawny was great though.

saw The Dead Don't Die last night.

it's hilariously weird and nonplussed, even for Jarmusch.
i can't wait for people to complain that it's boring and nothing happens. XD
total homage to Romero from beginning to end.
i was actually a little shocked at how gory it was.

i'm hovering this at spot number three with Ghost Dog among my favorite Jarmusch films, just behind Dead Man and Paterson.

Tolkien. I'll just say it was 'interesting'. Decent film. Going to see new Godzilla and The Dead Don't Die both tonight.

Finished watching "Chef" by John Favreau. It's pretty good. His movies have a certain flow to dialogue that I enjoy. Lots of fast dialogue like you would talk to your friends. The main characters feel like real people not just performances. I loved his other film "Swingers" when I younger as well.

Just got back from: GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS!!! Man, I am sooooo late for this I'll have to turn in my G-Fan badge, but it just could no be helped!! I had dental appointments that kept getting in the way!!! Anyway, finally sat down with a large drink and watched GKOTM. I LOVED THIS FILM!! I LOVE THIS FILM!! I WILL ALWAYS LOVE THIS FILM!! IF I EVER MEET MICHAEL DOUGHERTY I WILL PERSONALLY WRITE HIM A CHECK FOR THIS FILM!! EVERY OLD-SCHOOL GODZILLA FAN SHOULD SEE THIS FILM...AS MANY TIMES A POSSIBLE!!! As the Showa era IS my favorite in the Godzilla series, I can say this is a love letter to that period. There are so many Easter eggs, hidden gems, and callbacks to previous films, any Godzilla fan could pick them out with no difficulty. As for all the critics...well, who cares!:D THIS IS FRIGGIN GODZILLA!! I don't remember any of them watching Creature Feature on Saturday mornings with me...but Godzilla was there! So, I don't give a fig what the characters do or don't do in the film! Godzilla films are not about them … they're about GODZILLA! As for the characters? Well, for the life of me I can't understand WHY they made Kyle Chandler the lead...he sucks...period! Vera Farmiga was...interesting. All you Millie Bobby Brown fans...she is underused...and I do mean underused! There are a lot of characters in this film, and about half of them should have been left out! The soldiers were more interesting than most of the main cast. Ken Watanabe, Sally Hawkins, and Zhang Ziyi SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE MAIN PLAYERS! THEY WERE FAR MORE COMPELLING THAN THE RUSSELL FAMILY! Anyway, characters aside the fights were awesome! Still not quite there yet, but so much better than 2014's Godzilla! A long protracted fight in daylight seems to be the one thing these new Godzilla movies lack! I have to believe by the time Godzilla vs. Kong comes out, we will finally get that fight! The story? It was not so bizarre or strange to me. Anyone who has seen any Godzilla movie, beyond 2014's film, should not be surprised or shocked by the story. That's why I was so put off reading the critics raving about the story not making any sense. REALLY? HAVE YOU SEEN INVASION OF THE ASTRO-MONSTER? KING KONG VS GODZILLA? SON OF GODZILLA? GODZILLA VS. MEGALON? OR ANY OTHER GODZILLA FILM? DID ANY OF THEM MAKE PERFECT SENSE? These critics claimed to be Godzilla fans and yet they bad mouth the film for being a Godzilla film? All in all, as a long-time Godzilla fan since 1976, I can say I have seen every single Godzilla movie and that GKOTM is one of the best! If you have not seen it...go see it! If you have...see it again!!;)

Watched this on Father's Day with my family. Not a high quality movie, but a good Father's Day film, and my parents enjoyed it. Probably going to see Aladdin again this weekend.

There's definitely a place in the world for bad-good-action movies. And it was honestly a dying art before The Rock got his grubby little paws on the genre.
It was mostly legit good action movies or genuinely bad-bad action movies.

His movies, while not actually good, are innocuous and fun romps with fun action and in the case of this one, Neve Campbell, which is always a win.

@RockyRoadHux and I also watched this movie.

It's definitely a different kind of movie. But it's a solid movie at a max. IMO the movie has pacing problems and to many characters (some of them don't get an ending to their story). It's a pity that the movie didn't only focus on Adam Driver and Bill Murray. These two were great together and so was their humor (the humor was quite good btw, even though it felt repetitive sometimes).

Rocky also had a good point of criticism: "why did the movie make the Zombie apocalypse a worldwide crisis? It would have been much better if it would have just been this small village. Like in a Stephen King novel."

    I fully agree with her.

    2.5 out of 5 Stardestroyers

PS: the Star Wars references were very creative.

I like everything about the movie that was so over the top-
the bizarre observations and weird gags, but the idea of fracking at the Poles causes the earth's axis to shift... I would have liked it more if it was not an worldwide apocalypse, but just Centerville.

I can understand that!;) I was scared when I did not see Godzilla scheduled at my local AMC on Thursday of last week. I thought for sure I had missed it when I checked again and saw it was still playing through this week! Boy, that was close!!!:D

Saw Godzilla II today. In short: I enjoyed all the monster action very much (which is the most important thing here!), but a lot of human stuff was quite boring and cliched. And the humor was weak. So it was a weird rollercoaster - from high excitement to low excitement, back to high and so on. ;) Compared to the first one (which I liked very much), having the iconic monsters was a huge improvement. However, I feel like the first one did a better job at creating a specific feeling of awe and terror. But then the sequel needed a different approach to be more epic and have more action, so when you think about it, the two movies are different and kinda complement each other.

Last but not least, I was looking forward to hearing the new arrangement of the classic Godzilla theme since I'd learned it was going to be there and I'm not disappointed. Sounds great!
