Stylised? I don't know about that. But English has a lots of Latinate and French words in it, so maybe that's where the the idea comes from. Either that, or the countless rules for use under certain circumstances, and then the exceptions and rules for those very rules themselves.

She said not much is happening, so she won't come on for a while. Probably means closer to the Rogue One release :).

I took it as @BloodyShadow meant that some people view the English language as "cool" or trendy, I guess. Like, wearing designer jeans. Hahaha.

And yes. I can't imagine how difficult it is to learn English with all the ridiculous double standards and such. I've only learned Spanish, but that seemed so much simpler in its rules and form and conjugations.

My idea was the one @DarthSnow mentioned. The comparison is excelent!

You can't imagine how hard is the French spelling until you get a C in a spelling test. We also have a lot of exceptions and "mute letters" which don't help, and some a lot of rules are annoying to learn. But, yes, Spanish is simpler than English and French even if some rules sometimes make us despair...

That’s exactly the case. I’m lucky to work in a company that provides very good day care for children from 0-3 (called “Krippe” in German”), 3-6 ( a Kindergarten) and since this year we also have elementary school (6-9). Once a week I grab a company bike and ride over to the children’s facility were parents can have lunch with their kids.

Exactly, that's why I also looked it up on leo.org, what I meant was ice cream on a stick / lolly, in German “Eis am Stiel” to round up the lingo lesson.

Try learn German or French for a change. English is so convenient! ;)

Well, the weather's been terrible yesterday and today: gale-force winds, heavy rain, and hail. I had to layer up quite a bit: polyprop shirt, t-shirt, thick jersey, beanie etc. :D

I am not pleased :(. I hope everyone else is having better weather :).

Well my morning is a wet one compared to 3 straight sunny previous days, I'm having 3 belvita choc chip cake bars, followed by a slice of toffee cake washed down with 3 tumbler glasses of milk.

Sounds cozy to me! Or hyggelig, as @Luke’s Beard would put it.
(starting today’s lingo lesson: “The influence of the dane tongue during their conquest in Anglo-Saxon Britain during the ninth century”).

Wow coffee on the go to a business meeting, you sure need high caffeine levels for one of those, I once dozed off during one without coffee, I got a clap in the face to be woken up, lucky enough my ears where still working to recite what they where discussing so I didn't have to catch up, another nutella fan like me, fantastic.

Edit: ahh, that was nice and relaxing. I'm very relaxed, I think I got it just right :).

Thanks for the confirmation. I don't think we have companies like that in France...

    I fully agree! :)
If you think that these two languages, are convenient too, try Latin, Greek or Arabic (hard grammar and hard conjugation guaranteed!:D)

Return of the heat in France. I hope it will get better for you!

Says the man who then proceeds to quote himself as well....hahaha. ;)

Why hello there @Alex Sebire ! I am quite well. And, sadly, not drunk in the least.

So, where does this "Kaore" come from, and how do you know it?

Lol, it's Maori. We're required to learn some basic Maori at primary school according to the curriculum :).
