By half-hour, are you referring to morning tea or is there no designated break times?

morning tea? I'm not sure I understand the whole thing... What is that? they give you tea or is it another thing?
Actually, I finish morning classes at 12:30 PM, have to go to the canteen and start Afternoon classes at 2 PM but my Thursdays and Fridays Greek classes starts at 1 PM (like Japanese, Chinese and some other classes).

You have a literal cantina? :p My school was the same as @Alex Sebire 's school with the age thing but it was because we didn't have a cafeteria and only had a stupid vending machine

Morning tea: a light meal, generally a snack such as some biscuits or crackers between breakfast and lunch, between 10 and 11 am. Afternoon tea follows the same principle for the time between lunch and dinner, except it's generally between 3 and 4 pm.
Oh, both colleges/ high schools I went to had a cafeteria :p.

Yeah my old college had a nice cafeteria but they wouldnt let you take food out so me and my gf would sneak it out in our backpacks because our town "closed" down by 9pm so if we had been drinking and smoking and had the drunchies/munchies we were forced to walked for miles 1am for any sort of food (before we got cars) but i was the first to buy a new car so i was forced to ferry everyone to parties -_- .

So it’s meal stories right now over here. Well, I just came back an hour ago from my company’s kindergarden where I had lunch with my son – there was Schnitzel and iced-lolly on today’s menu.

Tomorrow we might get over 30 degrees Celsius around here – that might come in handy.

Okay... Darth Snow is about to learn some lingo today... iced-lolly? Ice block? You referring to frozen treats, like popsicles or ice cream?
Yes, I'm American. No, I'm not ignorant. I'm trying to learn about the world!

BloodyShadow agrees to improve her lingo level too.
According to my researches, the ice lolly are what we call "glace à l'eau" (~water ice cream) in France but I'm not sure...

Is it the school for children from 3 to 5 years old (included)? Because if you translate it in French, it is one of the names of this kind of school in France.

Well, that is, indeed, our "glaces à l'eau"!
    Thanks for the info! :)

This sounds way better than a popsicle. I'm going to start using that instead, or iced-lolly. English (American English, especially)... definitely not a romance language. Sigh.

Because popsicle is trademarked over here. So, it's less of a general term :p.

    If you say so...
Conversely, in France, most of the teens (and some adults) think that English is the most stylish language in the world!
And our laureate of the "romance language cliché" is the Italian language. When in a movie, you heard a character speaking French in a romantic scene, most of the time, he speaks Italian in our version.

Haha really? Careful, Uncle Sam is going to charge you if you keep saying popsicle TM

No way! So we are good for something. Well then, in that case... popsicle popsicle popsicle!

Very interesting stuff. I never thought about that! Essentially I guess the "romance" is just speaking a language other than your native tongue.

That reminds me, where is @Dark Cutie when you need her... que?
