It was partially explained. There is still some mystery as to what actually happened.

 

1) What was the "Cave" that Luke went into on Dagobah, and why was it powerful with the Dark Side?

2) What is the exact verbiage of the Prophecy about bringing balance to the Force, and who made it?

 

I'm with you on your thoughts about the Empire not being against aliens. Much of this information came from the expanded universe but the main reason I know that old man Palps wasn't against aliens is because of his relationship with Darth Maul. When a Sith gains a pupil, he does so following the rule of two one master and one aprentice, one who holds power and one who craves it. Just as Palps slayed his master, he knew fully well that if Maul eventually slayed him, all his empire would fall into Maul's hands. I don't know about anyone else, but I surly wouldn't train someone I hate to be my possible succesor. That and the fact that Palpatine's closest aids, Mas Amedda and Sly Moore, were both aliens. Why suround yourself and trust your secrets to beings that you hate and plan to enslave knowing that this will only turn more beings against you?

The thing that I'm dying to know is what is the nature of Bossk and Boba Fett's relationship. In the EU, Fett and Bossk were hated rivals but Clone Wars has shown us something very different from what EU thought us. Why would a renown hunter like Bossk stick with a little kid and agree to follow him in the first place? Now before anybody comes up with the Fett was awesome coments or what not, I remind you that the real canon Fett is not the demi-god that EU wanted him to be. In CW, Boba oftenly failed as he lacked experience and this could be seen when he tried to kill Windu, when he went to jail and when he became the bride of Otua Blank. His lack of knowledge and overconfidence often seemed to get the best of him as he grew up and this makes him a believable character and even makes his death at the hands of Solo more acceptable. The ROTU Boba Fett was just a regular guy who made mistakes but if it would have been the imortal all knowing EU Fett, he would have beaten all the heros in the Sarlacc battle with one hand behind his back and with his eyes closed. Seeing as how Bossk stuck with him is an enigma as Bossk even defended him when they were in jail so It can't be about the money cause why would Bossk protect a loud mouthed kid if they were ALREADY stuck in jail? Fett can't be a millionare eather cause then what would be the point of him becoming a bounty hunter in the first place if he could live a life as a king. Sometimes I wonder if Bossk knew Jango and maybe he promised him that if anything ever happened to him, Bossk would watch over Fett.
