    No that could be what happens in episode 8, I agree it was a powerful scene, their first meeting usually is.

    Will be interesting to see. I also agree with the OP about the music in this scene. When Luke is first revealed the music takes a somewhat (hate to use this term) sinister turn before changing to the familiar theme we all know and love. Interesting.

    I read a rumor that he was searching for the First Jedi Temple in that remote system trying to get something that he's been looking for for a long, long time, since before he met Vader, or Leia, before the story even unfolded.... The power converters.

    But on a real note, I don't think he'll take the saber. I truly believe that saber is Rey's now. Luke still has his green saber, but I don't think he'll use it much. I bet he is so strong in the force at this point. Even more so than Yoda.

    This is what Luke really thinks in that scene.



    On the serious note, I really liked this scene: the music, the emotions on both of their faces, the mystery, the setting... I personally think he seemed overwhelmed and then resigned. The Force wants what it wants. It wants Rey and it wants Luke back into fray.

    I will assume they will not start the next scene at that moment and it will be left up to us. I think perhaps the first scene in VIII will be a discussion of some sorts in a dwelling like with Yoda and Luke.

    I agree Rey's arm would go numb after 5 minutes still holding that lightsaber for 2 years.

    No way Luke is taking that lightsaber, imo. As Maz said, it "called to her" through the Force. Luke has the (green) one he constructed for himself, though we haven't seen it yet in the ST. A lot going on here.. I feel too much to have her be the obvious, Luke's son. It would be quite the conflict of interest to have Luke train his own daughter, though I could be wrong

    And again I have to raise the music, as in the OP.. why did it take a seemingly dark turn when Rey reached the summit and looked upon Luke? Who exactly is dark here? Could it be because of Rey's lineage? Or is it Luke himself? We have no idea what is going through Luke's mind when he looks upon her as he does, but it's fun to guess :p lol
