Way better delivery here. I don't know what happened with JJ, but his sense of pacing and tone seemed to vanish during the editing of episode 9 unless he was frozen in carbonite while the mouse took over. It's a real shame because there's lots of good to the movie, it's just hidden by the mediocre edit which kills all sense of emotional weight to anything.

I found this fan video made up of Rey and how she goes through the heroines Journey:

And The Marsh King's Daughter is up on Amazon Prime.

Seeing a lot of naysayers wondering why she's out and about talking about Star Wars. They genuinely think she's been trotted out to defend Disney and promote the new Star Wars film and nothing else, they are saying her career is over and nobody will employer her. It's like, look, new movie....Daisy's doing Star Wars interviews and that's it. It's just so dumb and it's supposedly a good film with fantastic acting but no, it's Disney Star Wars sucks and damage limitation. I mean the dates for this movie has been known about for months, Daisy herself got special dispensation to to market the film during the actors site, she missed out on another press tour before that for The Marsh King's Daughter but you know it's deflection due to Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy's comments. It quite frankly laughable

Here's an interview that Daisy did with CBC

    https://www.cbc.ca/arts/q/daisy-rid...s-to-the-vastly-trickier-human-mind-1.7098099

A brief interview from the AP:

    https://toronto.citynews.ca/2024/02...ing-the-dark-side-and-developing-dark-comedy/

She's not trotted out to do anything. She's doing promotion for 'Sometimes I think about Dying. And of course she is questioned about the new Rey film . The naysers are mostly narcissistic men who feel threated by her and people like her. They suffer from an inferiority complex and feel the need to attack people who are doing well either psychologically or materially.

Notice the attacks have not gone out for other SW actors, who aren't exactly busy with work. I was on YT the other day and some fan did a trailer for the new film. And the entire comment section was filled with ugly Rey bashing remarks.

It would be scary if I didn't understand the psychology and the mindset. The fact that their lives are so empty ,filled with such self loathing & lack any kind of courage to make their own lives; that they feel the need to try and tear down others. Because it's the only way esteem they can get any type of self worth.

She's done a LOT of stuff. Currently has a film showing at the cinemas and she has been quite busy since the ST wrapped. The Marsh King's Daughter is now streaming.
Daisy, Oscar and Adam have been busy since TROS wrapped; haven't heard as much about John Boyega but I'm sure he's been doing projects too.

    Return from where?

Plagueis is just a yarn Palpatine told to Anakin for all we know.

Seriously. What unambiguous canon acknowledgement of Plagueis's actual existence is there?

Well, according to Lucas Palpatine 'canonically' didn't have offspring, even a 'failed' clone!

This is now Disney 'canon', they abolished the EU and Lucas's vision when they bought the franchise.

It's not canon unless it's stated unambiguously in one of the movies. And the EU, by George's own definition, has never been canon.

Which is, for me, how this scene works best.

Just planting a seed about the promise of immorality and his supposed destiny to destroy his new master one day. The manner in which that ultimately transpired was not what Sidious had in mind though.

Apparently he never liked the 'Force healing' stuff as he believed that if such a thing existed, Anakin knew he could have used it to save Padme and thus the Skywalker Saga never would have happened.

Who would have taught him? Force healing was not doctrinal at the time of the clone wars. It was rediscovered in the ancient texts.

Been away, first I’ve heard of that statement.

though the interesting of it is that if Anakin did try to use it, Padme wasn’t sick or dying at the time, so it wouldn’t have done anything anyway. Padme only died because of Anakin’s attempting to stop her dying which was his fall. To play with it further, *if* Anakin knew of it and tried it, it probably wouldn’t do anything. He’d likely think it wasn’t enough, seeking other answers due to his fear of losing her. Insert Revenge of the Sith’s plot again.

I've never heard that statement either. Seems to be a trend on Cantina to claim something's been stated but the actual statement is somehow always elusive and irrecoverable.

Kind of my thoughts on the matter. The Force healing, we’re told, is about giving of yourself for the benefit of another. It’s selflessness exemplified. A personal sacrifice.

Anakin’s character arc in ROTS is defined by selfishness. He’s fundamentally unwilling to let go of what he’s attached to. The two ideas are directly opposed to each other in premise. It doesn’t make any conceptual sense.
