Main Rey/Daisy Ridley Episode IX thread

They made it pretty clear Finn is force sensitive so I can't see him not being involved in a New Jedi Order film without having to explain his absence.

 

Finn could be off travelling the galaxy helping other former FO conscripts and/or doing "apostolic" or "evangelistic" type work for the new Jedi.

If he isn't to appear in the next movie, it might be cool to see Rey receiving pilgrims and would-be students who have been recruited by Finn and sent on their way to find her. Remember the tracker thing in The Last Jedi? What if the new disciples that have encountered Finn are given a similar token to help them find her and for Rey to know that Finn has sent them?

If the new movie doesn't feature Rey doing that by herself (since there will be a time jump, you would expect Rey Skywalker to already have a company of trainees and a few knights), it would be great to see a separate movie or show with Finn meeting and trying to convince suitable people to learn the ways of the force. They would be the original odd couple to start with, of course. With Finn's new learned skills put to the test by a recalcitrant, maybe even dangerous but certainly volatile individual. And the would be Jedi gradually finding that there is a greater destiny than where they are headed to on their current path.

Training someone who really, really doesn't want to be a Jedi or join an order. THAT would be a new direction that can be explored in a number of ways. All of which look good from my POV.

Just for example, can you imagine Finn and a stubborn punk with potential in a Star Wars equivalent to that scene in They Live!? "I'm giving you a choice... Either listen to the force guiding you, or start eating that trash can...Sorry, R2." ...and the entire middle third of the movie is Finn and the new person duking it out across a planet, across a number of planets, in this obscenely inflated space donnybrook (makes Kenobi Vs Greivous look like child's play) before finally making an alliance and joining up against a bigger foe in the last act. Just a thought.

I know (as of right now) she's younger than the women in the story, but it would really be nice to see her in any kind of live action version of the story. Whether on film or tv.

Finn originally was not meant to be 'Force sensitive'.
The shots of him holding Luke's sabre in TFA were designed as a red herring to detract audiences from the fact that the Force sensitive hero was Rey,

Finn being Force sensitive was added on at the last moment by Abrams, because John Boyega specifically asked for it.

Just recently discovered AI generated art. There is a lot of stuff on Rey much of it very tasteful and nice. I especially find it interesting that much of the art work doesn't use Daisy's likeness. Which to me is a reflection of the power of the character.

So that's The Marsh King's Daughter, Sometimes I Think About Dying and now Young Woman and The Sea releasing these past seven months and Magpie premiered without release dates.

Can folks now stop paraphrasing and just reading headlines about Daisy Ridley's "unemployment" and ignoring covid lockdowns?

I know the film she's just filmed We Bury The Dead is aiming for Premier and release by the end of the year. With it being a Zombie thriller, you can bet your bottom dollar there aiming for Halloween. So if the NJO script is just about done, I reckon filming will start top end of next year
