Viral Hide, have any of the purported revelations related to us by Kyle ever actually been confirmed as being true?

    Bravo.

At the end of the day, intel is intel... sources are sources... a site may get a jump on a story for a bit but it'll eventually trickle down to the others. So for me, the thing that matters most is how it's being served up. The tone/manner with which it is shared... and Viral employs such great care and tact in all of his posts and exchanges... it makes all the difference.

Scoops don't make any of us precious snowflakes. A monkey with a keyboard can blast it out there just the same. Integrity and respect for the material, and the readers/fellow fans... that's what matters in the end. Because, believe it or not, it's always a 2-way street... even if you have comments shut off.

    My bobo opinion.

I assume she uses Rey as an alias, not that it's a codename used by JJ and the crew. I think she has to hide what her name is because of who she is. If stormtroopers found out she was "Kira Solo" or whatever her name is she would be found and killed. This way she can live in relative peace and safety.

I agree with you, but how practically would they pull this off? I mean nobody knew Luke existed or what he looked like. However, unless Kira or Rey, grew up separate from mom and dad there would be people who know what she looks like. Also, since Tatooine, was the birthplace and home of Anakin and Luke, how can Rey really hide there? I've no doubt they could attempt to pull it off, but I hope they give explanation as to how the daughter of the saviors of the galaxy can live unnoticed. I mean its a little like Suri Cruise moving to Montana, how long before somebody figures out she's Tom's kid?

for sure there are a lot of big questions to be answered. But Obi-Wan lived on Tatooine for years and years without detection or much human interaction. So I don't think it's implausible to think that Han was able to visit her incognito and that she was able to live without detection. Based on concept art it looks like the collapsed AT-AT is in the middle of nowhere too, similar to Obi-Wan's hideout in ANH. I really have no clue. Tatooine seems to be the center of the Star Wars universe for some reason.

If Leia isn't a major political player its very plausible that Rey (Kira Rey) was raised by her parents and trained by her uncle. She could have been sent to Tatooine on a mission for the rebellion to recover something or possibly live in secrecy because her parents fear for her life if she is with them. Possibly she is staying with a trusted friend on Tatooine. If she is on a mission, It isn't crazy to think just because she's Leia's daughter she wouldn't be involved in the Rebellions missions. Look at Leia, a princess, going on the deactivation of the shield generator on Endor mission for example.

Assuming everyone knows what the Solo's daughter looks like is harder to believe than anything I just said.

Wouldn't this make Rey, Luke's adopted daughter?

It is doable, but needs to be explained. It is one of the reasons I would almost rather it not be Tatooine. I know it most likely is, but you can only call tatooine a backwater forgotten planet for so long. I mean Anakin and Luke both grew up there. The empire won't be forgetting tatooine any time soon. However, if she was dropped off and stays out of the larger cities it is doable. The point was it has to be explained. Also, Tatooine loses credibility as a hiding place at a certain point in time.

On another note, if this is the "skywalker" story then I almost assume that Luke has a kid somehow. The reason is simple, I mean as much as I love Han and Leia's daughter, she's not technically a Skywalker. To continue the Skywalker name Luke has to have a kid right?

But has it ever been definitively established that the desert planet on which Rey resides is really Tatooine? I know there have been some rumors suggesting otherwise, such as this one from Jason Ward: http://makingstarwars.net/2015/01/speculation-thawing-sand-planet-assumptions-tatooine-not-tatooine/. Ward makes reference to depictions of tauntaun and wampa skulls and downed AT-ATs in the concept art for the desert planet, suggesting that the desert planet might, in a shocking twist, turn out to be Hoth after having undergone some kind of radical climate change! He also points out that the concept art for the desert planet consistently shows only one sun and two moons, whereas Tatooine has always had two suns and three moons; so there are actually real, concrete reasons for believing that the desert planet is not Tatooine.

I really kind of hope you are right. It has not been established that it is Tatooine in my mind and I kind of like the Hoth twist, but where did all the water go?

That is a good point. You'd think after the droids that were carrying the plans to the death star were jettisoned there, and the former biggest enforcer in the galaxy, and the guy who helped kill both the Emperor and Vader, and where Obi-Wan was hiding.

Regarding Luke's child: It would have to be a main character but i don't see any of the "big 3" being Luke's child. So that leads me to believe maybe he does not have offspring or that will be a later revelation.

Ooh, would Luke hide his kid to protect him from those who might want to kill him? Or would he keep him closer to him and "go into hiding" until his child could protect himself? There are a couple of named actors whose characters we do not know yet, who certainly could fit the role of Luke's kid.

Gleeson was my first thought, honestly. My big question: Who is the mother?

She would be part of the Skywalker bloodline and that's all that really matters. To me it's much less corny and more legit if she is just part of the bloodline and doesn't have to actually carry the last name.

She looks much more like Carrie Fisher anyway and to the point of Ridley and Driver being solo twins....

They look a hell of a lot more like each other than Hamill and Fisher. She definitely has similar features to Carrie Fisher. I noted Drivers similarities to Fisher and Ford in the Kylo Ren thread.

She looks like she could definitely be related to Natalie Portman in some way also.

I assume she is dead somehow by the time this story starts which would allow them to leave that to the new EU stuff, and a new version of Mara perhaps.

that is a point, but I will use Shakespeare as an example, although there are members of the "larger" Shakespeare family alive I believe, there are no descendents of Shakespeare alive. When you lose the name it does not take long to lose the connection IMO. I like the Jaina and Jason story line and do not mind if we see a variation of that theme here. It is a great concept and a twist on what happens with Luke and Leia, but I still think there is an actual "skywalker" descendant somewhere in the story.

That's possible I'm just saying I think she isn't the one who would directly carry the name. I personally wouldn't mind if no one did though just that SW is still about the family. We are talking a 30 year gap in the story here not when Shakespeare was alive until 2015. I don't mean that in a mean way I just mean no one watching the films will forget she is of Skywalker blood. Especially when there is still a Skywalker in the film.
