The Empire is an authoritarian regime based unambiguously on Nazism. Nazism is an extreme form of fascism and 100% a far-right political position in regard to the left–right political spectrum.
Possibly. But with respect to what the Empire specifically is (an autocratic political structure defined by authority and hierarchy and order), "far-right" is entirely accurate. It's exactly what that term means.

I’m not arguing one way or the other. If you read back a few posts I said I can see it either way.

I can see where people who think that message fits well with what we just learned and I can also see how some people think it doesn’t.

Youre arguing with me like I said they are incongruent and they don’t fit.

My criticism was people who were treating people who felt like it changed the meaning of that message as though they were crazy.

I said at one point something to the effect of as long as they message didn’t start “we’ve never met before but you served my father in the clone wars” I’m good. That’s not what the message said, so… I’m good with it.

Disney is and has forced new content/stories in and around existing time lines. I’m totally fine with having to re-evaluate how scenes and lines may have originally landed so I can enjoy the new stuff (so long as we avoid clear contradictions).

I apologize in advance, for not continuing the conversation, just some things I wanted to discuss:

I remember the rumor that Madonna was going to be a Sith during the prequel's early production, I believe she was up for Ventress. I was so excited but unfortunately it never came to fruition. I think GL didn't want a woman to play a Sith role, or something along those lines... Reva, for me, fills that void.

Dressed similar to Vader, only thing she is missing is the Mask. As Snoke said to Kylo Ren, take off that ridiculous mask... She is my Kylo Ren, so I don't mind that allot of fans dislike her, because I really disliked Kylo Ren. Just like Kylo Ren, I'm looking forward to Reva's redemption arc.

With Wade Resselian, (I meant Roken... haven't gotten enough sleep these days)O'Shea Jackson's only role I know of is from Godzilla King of the Monsters and I have to say I wasn't impressed, but you don't watch a Godzilla film for the acting... with that said, I don't blame him for his acting ability in Kenobi, I solely blame the director. for me, its the director's job to extract the best from the actors... some would say, its editing, but for me its the director.... I blame everything on the DIRECTOR... its the directors fault... haha :D

I've been hearing on the Youtubes, that episode 4 was shot like a Rebels cartoon, I don't agree, but I'm glad that some so-called critics are finally seeing Chow's flaws, and not putting all the blame on the actors.

If you read back, I was responding to your post quoting me.
I was struck by your use of the word, ‘forced.’ Are you implying fans had no interest in revisiting the Obi-wan-Anakin (Vader) relationship ten years after ROTS?

For whatever it’s worth, Nielsen reported that Disney’s Obi-wan Kenobi show came within an eyelash of matching the blockbuster opening weekend viewership of Season 4 of Netflix’s Stranger Things. Apparently there are a few fans interested in this story Disney ‘forced’ on us. ;)

I am not in the same boat, yet.... but I have pushed mine into the water.

@Madmartigan Can I request the Vader shot right before the helmet covers his face?

My snip tool bantha blasted the bed and my image looks like sun dried Sarlacc ass.

    Make SOLO 2 happen.

There’s honestly a nice amount of creative choices in this show that are frequently being overlooked on the internet to focus mostly on execution errors.

Here’s a quick sampling of some of my favorite world building moments so far:

    1) A giant sand whale creature who is caught, killed and slowly sliced up for consumption by others for weeks until another is found. Complete with a hover train that commutes workers to it.

    2) A clone trooper on the street homeless and down on his luck and begging.

    3) A market of strange alien delicacies.

    4) A spice dealer and lab.

    5) Looking out over a Bladerunner-esque cityscape in the GFFA from a rooftop.

    5) I didn’t play Fallen Order so pretty much everything related to Nur was fresh to me. The huge windows with water was cool.

    6) An Underground Railroad setup for force users. Compete with inscriptions carved into wood.

    7) A fake Jedi who grifts people for money with magnets but has a heart of gold.

    8) A tiny droid made for little kids.

    9) Seeing Alderaan and the way the Organa family had to wave and smile out their windows as they moved about the public.

    10) A storage facility holding dead Jedi encased in amber

    11) Seeing Vader dump out a flammable material and then slowly drop his saber down to ignite it and force pull Kenobi into it.

    12) A mole creature.

    13) A laser fence that cuts through a trooper in half.

Like, these are honestly really cool ideas and none of them remind me of the OT or prequels that much but also feel like they could and should exist in the world where those movies take place. I’m thankful for them and it’s becoming fairly annoying how much the hive mind of the internet dwells on failures of execution and doesn’t celebrate the moments that we haven’t yet seen in Star Wars live action before that are actually pretty awesome and creative.

Ewan becoming Ben has been utterly fantastic thus far and is my sole impetus for watching KENOBI to the end.

Great post, Ender!!! This was an incredible list -- and each one was spot-on!

The little 'world-building' snipets we see going on in the GFFA is one of the joys of these SW TV shows. For all the grief I'm seeing Debra Chow take here, this very thing is one of the reasons why fans (like me) applaud the directoral work of Bryce Dallas Howard.

I’m becoming increasingly well convinced that if ANH were to be released today, these same individuals would probably hate its guts.

They’d hate the way Leia spoke to two men and how she took control of a situation and blame Disney for forcing a bossy woman ahead of two men.

I had a thought while watching Episode 4 that I've been mulling over in my head but kept quiet about for fear it was probably a stupid idea. However, today Star Wars Meg had a new video which discussed the same notion. As a result, I'm now confident enough to mention it without the fear of forum-wide ridiculue: The Tomb that Obi-wan came across inside the Fortress Inquisitorium is NOT a tomb at all -- it's a place where jedi and other force-sensitive rebels have been encased in liquid amber and are....(cue drum roll).....STILL ALIVE!

This plot twist has the potential for bringing back old Jedi favorites we all assumed were dead as well as introduce new Jedi. It also might explain Grogu's 'darkness' following Order 66. Perhaps he was originally put 'in stasis' and was somehow later released.

Holy heck! I assumed all the above was very possible conclusions, but the Grogu-having-escaped-an-amber-cell thing didn't even occur to me. Kudos, man. I think that is a strong possibility, to be honest.

If you ask me, the problem is the exact opposite. Hayden and Ewan (and Vader) are so awesome that people always want more. But the thing is, this story was already completed (and completed very well) by ROTS and ANH. At some point you are just cramming in too much content, and it doesn’t fit together anymore.

I've talked to a lot of casual Star Wars fans lately about Obi-Wan. Mostly them coming to me and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Obviously anecdotal, but I haven't seen this kind of response since The Force Awakens. I mention this not because I think the series is perfect. It's not, but I do find that some fans who don't like are really starting to generate negative press that could end up hurting future Star Wars projects. It's not just the harassment of the actors, but the brigading/vote bombing of online polls like Rotten Tomatoes and IMDb. Online polls are meaningless, but some people genuinely believe them.

What are disgruntled fans hoping to accomplish by doing this? It's gotten to the point where I don't really even want to go online and read what people are saying. There's no project that's going to make everyone happy. Maybe the lesson here is for Lucasfilm to move to a new era. I just think some segment of fans aren't prepared to accept stories in their preexisting head canon. Mando worked for the most part because even though it's a timeline we know, it didn't center on legacy characters.
