Kylo Ren could get a new ship in EPVIII.

I think I remember to see .this models long time a go during the rumors for TFA. Not sure.but these are old concept arts.

And I dont think they should.change Kylo's ship, the model used in TFA looks great.

 

I Disagree. Kylo needs a Starfighter.

We've seen nothing to indicate he's any kind of pilot.

I think a TIE shaped ship that is roughly the size of the falcon (think the sith ships from Tor) made for cruising rather then dog fighting would be a good fit.

 

As the Grandson of Vader and a fan of Vader, who was the best star pilot in the galaxy, you'd think Kylo Ren would at least be interested in having a Starfighter.
However, I guess having Han as your dad always going on and on about star fighter stuff might put you off it all.
Still his lineage from Han/Anakin should give him sufficient ability and knowledge of piloting star ships.

 

Think it's safe to say this is the ship that crashes on Ahch-To and the Knights gather around, based on the leaked pic from the set. No?

 

Is that how it works?

I joke, but maybe in Star Wars it is. Luke was an incredible pilot, and so was his dad.

I think I just found out why Ren is desperate to find Luke. From the databank:

If rumours are true it seems Luke has discovered that some Jedi knowledge is at the First jedi Temple. It then strikes me that Ren doesn't just want to kill Luke but destroy the temple so the knowledge of the Jedi is lost...

 

Well all skywalkrs are natural pilots so it's safe to assume that he is one .

Huh...that's just made me think of something.

What if Kylo's desire - to destroy knowledge of the temple and wipe out memories of the Jedi - is actually his way of trying to cover up the fact that his grandfather turned, killing the Emperor? What if his actions are to preserve the memory of his grandfather as a fearsome, loyal servant who served with an iron fist?

 

Perhaps and he'd likely want that. But I don't think that is why he's looking for the FJT. It is unlikely that information about Vader's life would be there. Just ancient Jedi lore and teachings than Ren wants to bury to fulfil Vader's will.

 

Ancient Jedi lore could easily pertain to the prophecy of the Chosen One. It would certainly add much more significance to both Luke, Kylo and the Star Wars story as a whole if this was the case - that the temple on Ahch-To is where the prophecy of the Chosen One came about.

 

Good point. I know lots of people didn't like the prophecy stuff but I love that kind of thing. I'd like to see the prophecy explored further.

Oh, I really like that idea. I think "The Prophecy" really needs to be expanded on, that could be a cool way to do it.

 

I would suggest that Kylo Ren's interest in the First Jedi Temple would perhaps have something to do with his desire to "finish what you [Vader] started." Now most think that what Vader wanted was to be the supreme ruler of the galaxy, but I always thought "what he started" had more to do with saving (or bringing back?) those he loved from death (i.e. Padme). Immortality.

I don't know whether or not Kylo Ren knows about Force ghosts, but obviously Jedi are the only ones who have figured out how to "survive" death. So maybe Kylo wants to know where the First Jedi Temple is because he thinks it will help him not only rule the galaxy, but do so without fear of death or even bring someone back? Just a thought.
