Rey damaged the Falcon multiple times during that pursuit even to the extent of incapaciting the Falcon when she reached outer orbit. Luke's X-Wing got scratched by Darth Vader's tie-fighter. Absolutely no difference in terms of skill and end result.
Do you also read what you're typing. You say: "Unlike Rey who was a perfect untouchable Sue for the most part."
Contradicto in terminis: you are either a completely mary sue or you're not. You can't be a Mary Sue "for the most part"

She was mostly untouchable. But absolutely a Mary Sue. So was Anakin in TPM.
Luke wasn't in ANH.

What was Rey's most embarrassing moment in TFA?

Luke you can pick between getting owned by Tusken or almost rekt at the Bar. Among other screwups and times he needed to get saved.

Rey saved herself when she got in trouble. Luke got bailed out at least once by Kenobi, The Droids, Han and Leia.

Mary Sue? You watched TFA for sure, but did you actually see it

edit: hilarious, the 'Son of Poseidon' gave me a dislike. He hates Jason and his pesky argonauts

 

I am not sure how wanting to stay home, not immediately accepting her destiny or crying makes her not a Mary Sue.

She had already Mind Controlled a Trooper and Escaped when Finn showed up. And she knows how to fly so.....

Yes got captured by Kylo and then turned his mindprobed back on him (with no Training) in the next fight before owning him saber combat (with No training) to finish the movie.

That is not counting her being great at everything thing she tried and everyone wanting her. Finn, Kylo and Han included although not for the same reasons obviously.

Rey made a major screw up when she let the Rathnors out, it worked out in the end but even she acknowledges she screwed up.

 

She solved it herself while Finn paid the price and was made the fool.
When Luke screwed up he didn't bail himself out a friend had to show up and save his behind.

 

Some rescue! She manages to free herself, gets a weapon, evades an entire base load of storm troopers, and is within minutes for stealing a tie fighter. That was no rescue...that was just so the heroes could all be at the same place at the same time!

 

I get what you are saying but even though she freed herself, she was still stuck on Starkiller base and without Finn (and Han and Chewie) she wouldn't have had a ride off the base. So it was kind of a 50/50 rescue.

 

Why not she can steal a ship and she knows how to fly...see no reason she couldnt get off base.

Especially since Kylo has to bring her in alive and cant just blast her tie fighter out of the sky.
