    I don't know if he leaves, but he will not die. And we can thank TFA for that because it made Luke maguffin of film. The entire goal of the movie was to find him.

    Leia says: “What a fool I was to think we could just find Luke and bring him back.”

    In TFA novel she says: “If they get to Luke first, we don’t have a chance.”

    This is not just Leia, it's the force (pun intended) of the entire Resistance that looks after Luke and has faith that he can help. Snoke fears him. Imagine the ultimate dud the Saga would be if one of its greatest heroes is killed without doing anything worthwhile after ROTJ that we see on screen or has impact on the fate of our new heroes. There is a lot to be excited about Episode VIII, but Luke is one of the greatest.

    I agree and I mainly look forward to see Luke in VIII. But it is difficult to imagine to what extent his role will be. I mean the focus has to go to the new characters and they even were afraid Luke would overshadow the new cast in TFA. So we will see...

    If that was the case, I don't think it will be moving forward. Rey, Finn, Poe, and Kylo have all showed they belong. At this point it would be a disservice to not have Luke Skywalker be a big part of Episode VIII. And don't forget, although we didn't even hear Luke speak, the whole plot of TFA was essentially centered around him. I expect a heavy dose of the old farm boy in the rest of this trilogy.

    That's no longer the case. People have become invested in the new characters now and we care what happens to them. Luke having an active role now won't change that. However, it Luke would have had a more active role in TFA, there was a big risk that people would have cared more about Luke than the new characters and the connection people had to the new characters might have been lost

    The confrontation happens, but it is Luke vs KoR. It seems more Rey vs Kylo again. A possible confrontation Luke vs Kylo may have happened, but it was probably very secretly filmed.

    If this is going to evolve into spoilers, I'll have to pass on this thread. Trying to keep my experience fresh for the theaters next December!

    Here we may talk a little about what was leaked and rumored about Luke in VIII.

    Here is as rumored a new outfit of Luke in VIII. He was rumored to change TFA ending outfit to this one at one point in the movie. ;)

    Wasn't it also rumored that Luke has a tantrum during the movie? I really like this rumor and I hope it's true. It would namely explain Kylo's behaviour, maybe he throws tantrums due to Luke. He witnessed his uncle being angry and messing up things, so Kylo adopted this behaviour.

    hahaha ~ i would hate to see Luke not be in control of his emotions.

    Ren Ben flips out because he's frustrated with his Light/Dark chaos.
    he gets mad at himself when he does good things because they inevitably lead to him failing to do the necessary bad things.

    i can't imagine what (prior to Ben's fall) Luke would have to be frustrated about (except maybe Ben himself).
    and i would hate to see Luke devolve from the level of maturity he had achieved in ROTJ.

    I'm a fan of a slightly unstable Luke, don't know why though. :D
    Maybe it's because of making him more human, I don't want to see an all powerful and "flawless" Jedi-Master.
    But yes, you're right about Kylo's tantrums.

    Will he changes his clothes in the island? Doesnt make much sense to me this transformation to the "dark". I meant the outfit looks great but have a wardrobe or some extras clothes in the island looks silly.

    yeah, it was rumored he blows up a hut when he got angry at a discussion between Rey and Kylo.

    In case Luke leaves the island, he may use this outfit to hide that he is a Jedi.

    I'm also sceptic about this happening, especially Luke blowing stuff up in a wave of anger, that's not the Luke I know from the OT.
