Rey, Finn, and Poe all need to be on-screen at the same time. Interacting. And throwing the shipping wars into overdrive.

 

yes it is speculation but you are incorrect he has no feelings for Rey. If you read the book when he is talking to her and uses the term just a scavanger he feels her embarrassment and changes the subject ----it was clear in the movie that Kylo is only interested in the map. If you notice he only reacts when he lost bb8 and the girl both who he thought had the map. Do not assume that he and snoke are looking for Luke in the same reason... the movie certainly wants you to see that but is it true ? Also, news flash if you keep up with the shoots its a very good possibility they kylo and Rey have an encounter romantically. the trees are important and that is the connection between the two of them. It appears Ben destroyed Lukes tree we see pictures of the tree burnt. The other Tree to bring it back to Poe Dameron was at his place Shara Bey died 4 years before Rey was born. but pretty sure that is where she was taken from.... So she might be a 1/2 sister of Poe or a step sister or could be a friend of the family. Kylo Ren is the anti-hero not the antagonist --- the antongonist is Snoke and his minions snoke wants all of the skywalkers and Solos dead you may not pick that up from the movie but it is in the book.

i think it's perfectly reasonable why Kylo Ren stopped short in the interrogation and why he came in late to begin with:

• let the traditional methods do their work. you don't call in the co-commander to do the job of the lackeys until the lackeys fail.
  
• his first objective was to get the map. he got it. if they needed something else from Poe, it could wait. at this point they aren't worried at all about the Resistance; their mission is to find Luke Skywalker.
• if they were saving Poe to glean further information, they really probably did have to take a break:
  • Poe likely passed out in the process (he looks like he did); either way it was obviously intense.
  • it actually takes work for Ren to shuffle into people's heads (and apparently it's not pleasant work either).

 

Here is a weird theory .....Poe and Rey are brother and sister, the Luke/Leia effect!

2. deadpool is an anti hero, kylo-ren is a clear cut villain. Granted he is a villain with a story arch, but a villain nether the less.
im glad you have read the book, and clearly it gives you some extra insight, but the films stand for them self.
snoke has clearly cultivated kylo and understands the value of some one with the inherited force power and lineage kylo has. if snoke is to be the master mind that has been around for long enough to have seen the rise and fall of the empire, it would seem inconsistent with his character if he fails to recognise kylo's value.

And just imagine what they will be like when Rey and Poe actually interact on screen. If the Stormpilot ship is this strong after two scenes of them interacting, just think how insane they'll get! Can't wait to get my morning laughs from that.

I wonder if Kylo Ren knew where the Resistance base was anyway. Didn't seem to be his concern, just getting the map. Poe was probably a goner though.

This didn't occur to me, and how did he know he was the "Best pilot in the Resistance".

All just speculation about Kylo Ren, but it's possible motivation and we shall see. Poe never meets Rey in VII, but has a little meet cute in the novelization, for his family story, check out Shattered Empire comic and Before the Awakening. I agree Kylo Ren does treat Rey well compared to Poe and it is important. Poe's mother died before Rey was born, so couldn't be siblings that way if it was a thing.

 

Well, he also treated Han slightly better than Lor San Tekka and look how that turned out.

he had to have figured this out after the fact, though, since they had already had a moment on Jakku. so he looked him up on the gffa equivlent of the www and saw his picture on the cover of New Republic magazine? hahaha

it's totally a expositional throwaway. as Poe was meant to die, i'd wager most of what happens throughout this whole scene is exposition:

• set up for contrast to Rey's interrogation later.
• introduce the mind torture thing.
• show Kylo Ren being generally awful to everyone.
• introduce Hux.

 

Well when you are killing your Dad over just some old guy you know, you might be a bit more sentimental.

Have a bit of a crush on Poe. Not so much Oscar Isaac, but I love him as an actor. Have to photoshop this to be the New Republic magazine, or Resistance monthly. LOL

Anyways, it bugged me that I couldn't remember where I had seen Poe's blaster...

and yesterday, I think I found it....

They aren't exact, but they are REALLY close.
Rey has a Legacy-Lightsaber, did Poe have a Legacy-Gun as well?
