    Seriously, who doesn't want Rey to be Luke's daughter? But I don't think it is to be. Too many questions to be answered. Why would Leia maroon her niece on a far off world? She's close enough to Kylo's age, right? They would know each other. Wouldn't Luke's daughter train as well? Why leave her with Unkar Plutt who doesn't seem to care for her? I don't like the Anakin rebirth theory either, but I don't have a good explanation otherwise. She grew too powerful too quick. I may look at it years from now and say it was poorly done, but right now I'm still excited for the return of Star Wars movies.

    Well me :D

    It would kill the Jedi Code, kill the personnality of Luke, the trust the jedis have in him. It would turn all the attachments things who lead Anakin to the dark side to trash. It would kill the whole logic on the Jedi Order.

    This is true. But with Anakin's move and Obi-Wan's willingness to (or at least it was eluded to in the CW cartoon with Sateen) it could always be a possibility. Plus with the Legends, Luke got married and had Ben.

    Rey and Ben are ten years apart and if Rey has been on Jakku since she was 5-8 years old, it's a very slim chance they ever met before.

    and no, not everyone wants Rey to be Luke's daughter ~ we have whole threads arguing the point. hahaha

    I think the jedi code will be safe. If you look to the movie without any Skywalker obsession, the whole start of the movie is how to introduce two complete strangers to the whole story. ( Rey and Finn ).

    The "no attachments" philosophy was an inherently flawed, dogmatic practice that led to the downfall of the Jedi Order. That was what the entire point of that part of the story in the Prequel Trilogy - if Anakin had been able to openly show his love Padmé without fear of being expelled from the Jedi Order, then he wouldn't have turned against their ranks. Attachment from within didn't turn Anakin evil, corruption from without did - and it's because of his attachment, the love of his son, that he's able to overcome the Dark Side once and for all and redeem himself in death.

    The whole "Jedi can't marry" thing because of the presence of a code that hasn't been followed for over 50 years in-universe is a bunch of bunk. The only reason the whole "no attachments" rule exists in the first place is so that there's internal conflict for Anakin in the Prequel Trilogy, as George Lucas said that there is no issue with Jedi having sex lives (provided that they don't get attached to the people they lie with, which honestly just makes them look like complete dicks). If Luke adhered to that rule dogmatically (something I'm sure that all three of his Force Ghost pals advised against), then he would have learned absolutely nothing from their mistakes and would doom a future generation to fall into the same trap.

    Nah sir. The downfall of the Jedi Order was to bring peace by going to war. That was their arrogant behaviour.

    You should read Jiddu Krishnamurti about love and attachment.

    If I'm not mistaken, Anakin first steps to the dark side was the fear to lose his mother and his wife.

    So what is Star Wars and Anakin's story about ? What leaded him to the dark side ?

    The perfect freedom is to possess nothing or noone. What's why there is this word : possession and its meaning in a material and spiritual world.

    But if you never ever attach to anyone or anything.. you ignore the material and biological part of your existance completely. Is this the idea of real fullfillment? And what are your improvements about LETTING GO if you never have or loved anything never have been attached to anything or anyone.. never have been responsible for anything or anyone.. letting go is quite an easy job if you keep completely outside everything BUT I will highly respect everyone who COMES OVER his attachments after a fulfilled life path with all its responseabilities relationships and mistakes..

    It's more than that. True Love is to love everything equally. But love is not passion, it's acceptance.

    It's finding your inner peace by being one with the universe and the Force and by finding this peace in an absolute trust with this force you project your inner world in the true world, that's why really wise men are ofter alone or ermites, it's about to be one with the silence and there's no agitation remaining.

    You are not just attached to people, you can be attached to an idea, to a goal or even to a code. That's the funny thing of it.

    And when wisdom is there, when you let go about everything, you're just alone with the Force and one with it by letting go on yourself.

    Maybe it was Luke's journey. Lose the things he cared about ( academy, Ben Solo ) to find this wisdom and finally find the peace in loneliness.

    There is no past, there is no future, there is just now and the Force. There is nothing else but the Force.


    That's how I see it.
