Han couldn't bring himself to admit he was offering her a job and tried to pin the blame on Chewie ("I'm thinking about it." "Chewie kind of likes you"). That was her reaction.

 

Who are Rey’s parents?

Maryann Brandon: I actually don’t know. I am not even sure that they know. J.J. Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan weren’t talking about it. They shifted back and forth and they haven’t talked about it. Your guess is as good as mine.

So, they haven`t come up with a definitive answer yet, which Colin Trevorrow alluded to as well.

 

Abrams said that he knows who Rey's parents are since last year.

Ridley said since last year that she knows who Rey's parents are as well. And that they have not changed that facet.

Associate Editor Julian Smirke also contradicts with these other editors are saying as well.

So someone is lying/ignorant.

Star Wars and CodeGirl to Win Best Portrayals of Leading Women in Tech

Dave Filoni gives a long talk about the female characters of Star Wars after Rayne Roberts accepts the award. Roberts says that Rogue One also has a female lead. Filoni says "too bad" at the people complaining about two movies in a row having a female lead, and hints that there's more to come. RTÉ's Stephen Byrne said (July 1, 2016) that he and Daisy Ridley at first auditioned using the Hunger Games inspired script.

A preview (July 2, 2016) for the updated Star Wars Year by Year: A Visual History (Daniel Wallace, Pablo Hidalgo and Ryder Windham) for 2016 states that Daisy Ridley was cast in the lead role of "Kira" on February 5, 2014, landing the starring role after five auditions over the course of seven months.

hopefully they will still have her. she's an exclusive, which means a limited run. generally the SDCC exclusives sell out, but that's not always the case and it seems like the Star Wars stuff in general has been selling slower than the superhero stuff typically does.

i wish you luck! if i get flush before Christmas and she's still around, i'd love to snatch her up too. i'm half-tempted to put her on the payment plan, but even that would be irresponsible of me at the moment ~ hahaha.
