This is a clear sign that Daisy will steal the show at Comic Con and receive the biggest standing ovation. Daisy is the one shining star of this new Star Wars trilogy.

Boyega and Ridley give me great hope, these kind of events aren't fun or easy and they are both so poised. Daisy looks great in that Japanese article posted just a few post above.

I always like Rey more than Kira if that matters. Also I still wish we'd just get a new trailer.

I'm new here and don't feel like scrolling through 80 pages so don't hate me if this was discussed prior.

I hope if they are planning to go the Solo kid route, they just come out with it early in the film instead of holding it back for a shocking reveal at the end or in VIII. Something like when they first meet and Han discovers them on the Falcon and says "Oh it's you"; Finn to Rey: "You know this guy?"; Rey to Finn: "Yeah he is a scoundrel"; Han to Finn: "Actually, I'm her father", then the rest of the movie is about them rebuilding their fractured relationship before her twin brother kills their dad. It's more emotional and makes more sense than finding out after the fact: "Hey, remember that the dead guy you've were running around with and who gave you his ship, blaster, and body guard/friend/pet Wookie in that last movie? Well he happened to be your dad." It would make Chewie's close relationship to her make more sense as well if he knew her as a child.

And if they go the Kylo is her twin route as well, I hope they come out with that early, perhaps in the Maz Kanata flashback scene.

If they are using an idea taken so clearly from the EU, just come out with upfront.

There was a rumor at one time about her living on Jaaku with an old junk collector/trader that everyone assumed was Max Von Sydow, but now it seems he is the leader of the village that gets wiped out at the beginning. Maybe Han is that trader? Perhaps they aren't living together but are both living on that planet and aware of each other, just estranged.

All of a sudden, I feel as though rumblings have started up about her being a Kenobi, there was the EW article, then the rumors of the Obi Wan spinoff film, and then MSW was teasing something about one of the big three's parentage earlier today. It just makes me wonder....

 

Ooh... I REALLY like this. The big parentage twist in the ST is not that Rey is descended from Skywalkers, but that she is ALSO descended from the Kenobis. Obi-Wan has an unknown daughter, Luke discovers her existence and falls in love with her, they have a daughter, Rey. Maybe Obi-Wan knew of her and actually left some trails for Luke to follow to find her later on... (And then some tragedy befalls them and Luke believes he lost them both.)

In any event, the genetic combination of the "brothers" Obi Wan and Anakin could result in a truly not-before-seen level of affinity in the Force!

The only downside I see to this scenario is that it plays too well in the prophecies advocated by @Aufman.

 

I'm hoping Kenobi was smart enough to sheath his lightsaber. Wrap it before he taps...into the force? I don't know the puns aren't strong with me, but I'd rather not see Kenobi break his vows to the order. It would make him a bit of a hypocrite.

 

Personally I like the idea of Obi-Wan not crossing that line.

But . . .

If they are doing a Kenobi movie. Kenobi had a relationship with the murdered Satine of Mandalore. A story were Obi-Wan in hiding finds out that Satine had a daughter before she died and that the daughter was put in hiding (you know cause it would a political scandal involving a Jedi (monk/priest)). He comes out of hiding. Has to deal with some nasties after him. It could be an interesting movie. Tie that together with Luke finding out Ben had a daughter that is not a bad possible story.

 

Don't encourage him, *laughs*!

 

Wait she's now Ben's granddaughter? Oh bloody hell.
