Just a thought if the previous idea about Luke dating Kenobi's daughter is correct . . . and it ties in with Dutchess Satine does that mean that we could get a spin-off movie about Luke's girl friend fighting to retake the throne of Mandalore.

 

...Ok, I'm not gonna lie, I would totally watch that movie.

 

maybe sabine could be obi-wan's daughter, luke's wife after ezra dies and rey's mother.

 

Lets see what happens but I doubt Obi Wan would break his pledge to the jedi code, maybe Sabine parentage will be revealed sometime in Season 2.

 

Well if that is the case, then that makes Rey the most powerful jedi ever, more powerful than even Anakin. It also makes it even more inevitable that she gets chopped up by Kylo in Episode 8 and receive cybernetic limbs as well.

 

Still waiting on some sort of explanation behind this theory of yours. You seem to really want to see it. Personally, I don't understand where you're coming from at all.

 

Simple, Rey is the new Luke/Anakin of the ST. Both Luke and Anakin had their hands chopped off in the climax of the central dark episode of the trilogy. Rey will suffer the same fate too when she first faces Kylo as her power hasn't peaked in Episode 8. Her power will grow even more in Episode 9. Rey's path strongly parallels Luke and Anakin.

 

Appreciate the answer. I think you're missing the larger point of Luke's and Anakin's stories. And besides, if Rey is as powerful as you claim then I don't see why she would suffer such a defeat.

Elaborating on theories makes for much more interesting posts than simply claiming the same things over and over again. Interesting posts are more fun.

 

When I put Anakin, Padme, R2, C3PO, Luke, Leia, and Obi-Wan into the sims (sims 3 when I did this) I included Obi-Wan as "nonflirty" because I just don't see Obi-Wan getting it on. I could see him as demisexual perhaps.

But if an idea of Obi-Wan having a kid is well done and doesn't leave any plot holes I'll allow it

Obi-wan having an unknown daughter would certainly add a new twist on Yoda telling Obi-Wan "There is another" in ESB.

Obi Wan has a daughter-hopefully not,if such a powerful Jedi like Obi Wan had children,it wouldn't make sense of the Jedi rules but it would be interesting if Sabine was somehow connected to Obi Wan.But c'mon: imagine that Obi Wan umm.. with Dutchess Satine and Sabine was the long lost daughter of Kenobi(and she doesn't know Obi Wan is her father).It just doesn't feel right.
Oh,and @jmjawors. @Aufman is just trolling.I must admit,it's funny how everytime he talks about Rey it's like she's a goddess.

 

Maybe Padme had triplets and old Obi-Wan decided to keep one for himself...

 

Hahahahahah. Ridley is neither a solo or skywalker. They said her character was written (like Finns) to not be dependent on race! I knew it

 

I read somewhere recently that early concept art portrayed Rey as blonde, which seems to imply that even before Ridley was cast, they were looking at casting a caucasian actress. I'm an old school, Lucas Loving, EU-raised fan who desperately wants to see one of heroes be a Skywalker and maybe that just makes me lame and out of touch but despite the fact that Abram's mentioned the colour blind casting, I still have to wonder why we aren't getting a surname for Rey. I firstly can't imagine that any marketing or storytelling strategy would involve misleading a rabid fanbase into believing they'll get what they want and then not giving it to them, and I secondly don't believe that Disney isn't protecting they're investment so that they've got generations and generations of Skywalkers for Star Wars stories decades into the future. I'm at a point now where I hope something leaks that absolutely confirms the lineage, none of this wishy washy, John Harrison is not Khan stuff, because I want to realistically temper my expectations to fully enjoy the movie. Despite all of the amazing visual work, and the clear care that's been taken in structuring and unveiling the story, ignoring the original Lucas Skywalker generations plan altogether ultimately seems a little disrespectful and I guess that's what bothers me the most.

 

So hello to all Cantina people out there (Cantiners...? Fellow fans..?)! I'm a long time lurker, finally getting an account - you've probably heard similar stories.

While I LOVE the idea that Rey is Kenobi's granddaughter (and if the SDCC officially reported that she's not related to any previously introduced characters, please correct me), I do have a slight hesitance on the Obi-Wan/Satine timeline. The only time Obi-Wan admits to being "close" to Satine was when he referred to a mission that took place when Qui-Gon was still alive. That would make the child at least ten years older than Luke since the episode he mentions this (Season 2 Episode 13 "Voyage of Temptation") takes place closer to the beginning of the Clone Wars. While this is not to say that Luke can't be into older women, I find this less probable.

All of this being said, Obi-Wan could have very well had a relationship with Satine during the Clone Wars...kind of making the whole point above kind of moot...

As a separate note all-together, I would find it hilariously amusing - and quite ironic - if Kenobi did have a daughter and it was Doctor Aphra from the Darth Vader comics...

 

Since they haven't revealed Rey & Finn's last name, they have be somewhere related on the Skywalker/Solo/Calrissean lineage. Poe Dameron was given a last name so I suspect he isn't related.

 

I was following the live blog on starwars.com, and it was interesting that JJ said "The truth is we didn’t write the character of Finn to be any color, we didn’t write Rey to be any color." Assuming that JJ was sincere and that he didn't speak incorrectly, this means Rey isn't Han and Leia's daughter, because that daughter would have to be played by a Caucasian actress. I guess there is still a chance that Rey could be Luke's daughter, since they could change the backstory/ethnicity of Luke's wife depending on who got casted as Rey. Obviously, there is a good chance that Rey isn't related at all, in light of what JJ said at SDCC.

 

Well.... based on the vid.... Daisy obviously pilots the Falcon SOLO.... where's Finn?.... Shooting the cannon? ... where's BB8?... doing maintenance...? Thoughts?
