Good ol Johnny Depp is in a lot of movies again lately. That movie, the new Fantastic Beasts films (SPOILER ALERT!!!!), and another Pirates film coming next summer.

I dunno why, but her stance and facial expression in this picture makes me think of what a praying mantis would look like if it took a human form. Please tell me that I'm not crazy.

Not crazy. TOTALLY agree. (I suppose I shouldn't say whether or not I could be talked into letting her eat my head...)

Guy, can't you see that she's teasing a femme fatale Rey in Episode VIII? :p

Well, we saw a starship in which her parents(?)/guardians(?) flew away, so maybe there was a pixel or two of their models in film. :p

Being honest, in my opinion fans react to Rey's parentage like Rey herself. When she heard from Maz that her family's history did not matter, but what she can do for the Galaxy instead, she ran away. She knew that Maz was right but at first she couldn't accept it. However, after the events on Starkiller Base she finally embraced her fate and let go of her past. Daisy is very aware that this bit of interview will make fans buzz and analyze every frame of "The Force Awakens," but the answer lies within this scene - in the end, it doesn't matter.

People toss around names of potential parents left and right, but the only ones that may matter to her as a character are Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa-Solo and Han Solo, as these are people she met in person. Even if that was the case, do you really think than any one of these people would have been able to leave their daughter on a harsh desert junkyard under "protection" of one of the meanest characters in Star Wars films, especially when you take into account their previous actions (each one of these three would do anything to save their loved ones from jeopardy, even if one of them is Darth Vader.) Even if one of them did leave his/her daughter on Jakku, Rey would sooner or later forgive them (most likely sooner, as it is a Hollywood blockbuster) and in the long run it wouldn't matter that much.

All in all, this is a question that in my opinion is best left open, as answering it would most likely be disappointing and meaningless in the long run. An aura of secrecy would make her much a more exciting and mystical character, maybe even something along the lines of Yoda's origin.

    IMBDTop 10 Stars of 2016:

    8. Daisy Ridley

There's nothing like a Star Wars film to launch your career into other-worldly status. Thanks to the global box-office success of The Force Awakens and the cultural phenomenon that was reignited by it, Daisy Ridley became a certifiable megastar and the face of a suddenly more diverse and modern chapter of a beloved film franchise. In her lead character Rey, sci-fi fans found a female protagonist for the next generation: a young woman who was independent, empathic, adaptable, and unafraid to mix it up with the worst of the Dark Side. Expect similarly big things from Ridley in 2017: She landed a role in the star-studded Murder on the Orient Express and, of course, returns for Episode VIII, set to hit theaters in December.

I'm going to see this film next week (mostly because of Daisy's voice :D) and I'm quite excited for it.
