I hope he gets a high view point to observe that his apprentice is doing it right with his teachings & Rey might pull out her blaster when Yoda speaks causing Luke to calm her.

Ok I think I'll just bang my head against the wall 4 a few.......

Well DR basically said 2 NL "I'm Luke's daughter" without actually saying it. But it also sounds like RJ is going to put his huge stamp on the Franchise. Looks like he's gonna make Luke a total grouch/bore.

When it's all said and done u may here fans say things like.....

"JJ just copied Everything, but at least he didn't change the nature of the Force like RJ did!"

or

"JJ gave RJ the tools to make Rey a (insert name), so y did RJ make her a (name)! This goes against GL's wishes".

Or

"Even though RJ took a big risk & I like change, RJ failed big time. At least JJ played it safe."

Or

"Poor Colin Trevorrow. He's running out of positive Skywalkers to work with. I wish he directed TLJ instead. I'm sure CT wood of made Rey a (name).

and finally "Looks like JJ gets the last laugh!"

I hope they release those stills in HD they showed during the panel. I love the rain shot of Rey and the one of her walking with her staff on the cliff. They are already all over online. Should at least let people look at them in high resolution.

 

Or he wants Luke to go through the "grizzled, beaten-down veteran who has lost all hope, but is given new purpose by the optimistic young protagonist" arc.

But then again, I didn't like Yoda when I was a kid. I thought he was mean. It wasn't until later that I understood where Yoda was coming from. I'm curious to learn more about what turned the wide-eyed farm boy into a tired old hermit.

 

Also Luke being an old, crusty, self Jedi disliker is a perfect reason y we may get no Force Ghosts. Yoda maybe in a "Forceback" though.

Am not sure who painted the picture, I tried putting a link and all I got was multiple images of the same shout But yeah I loved that image.

 

If Rey turns out to be a Skywalker... does she follow in the tradition of losing an arm/hand? What is the chance that she battles with a light saber through 3 movies and is not scarred? Obi Wan and Yoda managed to stay intact for all their movies.

 

She haves a small scar above her eye in some promotional material.

 

Rey is a Solo no doubt!

 

I feel like Rey too needs some more personal drive to overcome the fear of tackling Kylo and the FO.

If I were her I would feel like I'd need more convincing to stick around and take on a hero's burden! Sure the Force is her ally but it's the enemies too. Sure she's found friends and belonging but does she have enough invested to take on their hopes and their wars?

I don't know if lineage or her parents will play a part (and I may well be wrong) but I feel "something elsewhere...elusive" is needed in TLJ to really cement her resolve.
