I agree with you and @Fussel2107. I immediately thought that he was watching Poe's X-Wing go up in flames. Kinda crazy how they can turn subtle movements into deep emotional responses. I love what I've seen of his "character" so far. The little beach ball definitely has a personality.

Actually that's a pretty good Plot Twist, you could get plenty of juice from that orange.

 

My thoughts:

1. "Fulfill our destiny" - what the heck is Kylo on? He must surely be a Skywalker/Solo? Or is he another chosen one? Or another son of Vader? Or a clone? Why does he feel their destiny is entwined? Saying "I'll finish what you started" is one thing, but destiny is something else.
2. Incredible shots. No more needed to be said.
3. Rey is smoking hot.
4. BB8 has the same emotional impact as R2 - why that is, I will never understand.
5. Love the Tie/X-Wing shots. Fanboy porn right there.
6. Didn't like the music. Not Star Wars IMO.

 

Hope is not lost today....it is found.

Ok seriously, if that isn't the most blatant "search for luke" line we have seen in marketing so far i don't know what is!

 

And Kylo saying "I will fulfill our destiny" also seems to confirm that he is Anakin's descendant, whether by Luke or Leia.

Yes, I think he knows who she is. It's possible he has been looking for her for quite some time, I imagine so that he can either kill her- or turn her to the Dark Side like their grandfather tried with Luke, as she isn't a Jedi yet. I think that's why she's on Jakku, she was left there as her only shot at survival. To be so unknown, that she doesn't even know her own identity.

I thought that might have referred to Rey being a new hope. She seems to feature more heavily in this trailer than the US one.

Spoiler: potential spoilers

SO, this trailer got me so incredibly hyped that i have done nothing at work but talked in whispers on the phone with contacts i have in greater LA area at Disney, once involved with WETA in NZ. I HAVE DETAILS (spoilers). i cant source safely so take this how you will. Supposedly Rey has been marooned on Jakku because of her heritage. She is the daughter of Han & Leia and was sent there at a young when the FO started coming into power. Poe is given the most important mission by Leia, who has received intel in regards to the motivation of the FO. she sends Poe to retrieve her daughter. Han, not trusting anyone but himself to get the job done, makes his way to Jakku for plan B. whether Han & leia are working together she doesnt know but its assumed, even though they are estranged. Kylo moves to permanently end the Skywalker bloodline, and thus end the Jedi. REY IS OUR MAGUFFIN, the light saber is essentially a memento to signify the passing of the torch. THERE ARE NO SECRET CODES LEADING TO LUKE. this is all i got. also. weve seen no flashbacks in any trailers thus far. not that there wont be flashbacks but my connect says all current scenes are linear in terms of the timeline.

 

Holy poodoo!!!!! Can't wait for lunch so I can watch it over and over again.

Rey explicitly mentioning her family is a Chekov's gun if I ever heard one. Who her family is has to be important.
