If this is a Sith artifact collector (Sith historian? Does the person collect Jedi relics as well?) they may dress themself up using the stuff that this person collects.

I'm not overly familiar with everything in the EU (no longer canon) but I would think there really isn't much in the way of Jedi artifacts to collect (maybe the odd limb here and there)
The Jedi temple aside they seem to be in more of a peace-keeping role than studying for further power and knowledge like the Sith with holocrons and elaborate tombs for ancient lords etc..

 

Questionable... the off the cuff answer is that if it were necessary, they all would have them. The more complicated answer goes back to Dooku, and his style of fighting. It has been said that at the time of the PT, the style of fighting with lightsabers had changed. Jedi fought against enemies that didn't have lightsabers, so their style was geared towards deflecting shots and cutting down troops. Dooku was a dueler... his blade and his style were geared towards fighting against other saber wielders.

With there not being much saber to saber conflict, it is possible that where hilt guards once were necessary (and present) they had simply fallen to disuse

And, sidenote, someone who had already been in a duel, and had his hand cut off, might want to safeguard against that...

I just watched Lego Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Out... I know, not closely canon, but Maul had a neat 8 blade saber, sort of fanning out on both sides. While not realistic, definitely interesting...

I'm gonna cut responding to the thread (there are 2 more pages I could respond to with basically the same thing) and just jump to my conclusions...

THIS is the Grave Robber, and as we all know, I think it is Luke... MakingStarWars posted another article covering this, and said this is the dude who the chrome troopers are around... so here we go on that...

The chrome troopers are Jedi... they are Luke's pupils, and Boyega is one of them. THAT is why everyone thinks he is a stormtrooper... but they aren't evil, and they aren't Imperial remnant... but they are the new force in town, and they are kicking ass.

Do I think it looks overly like Revan... yes I do... and I don't think that is accidental...

In my discussion on the elements of the new movie, I discussed the possibility of a new order, one that was mending of the Sith and Jedi... I had just expected it to be later in this trilogy... but I think this is where Luke has led the Jedi, and I think it is an order balanced a little more to the center than the previous Jedi order... whether they have already made contact with the Sith yet or not, or if he is simply making an army strong enough to withstand them, is another question...

Well the guy is a cyborg and Viral said Luke is not a cyborg therefore its not Luke.

 

what about the rumor from all the same people saying that no major character in the movie will be a cyborg? This stuff flip flops everyday!

If this is real...man that's really not a concept I like

Mizzlewump is looking more and more like a reliable source as time goes by. I am glad you archive these rumors; you have really helped placing these rumors in perspective to previous ones!

I initially dismissed the rumor that Palpatine had a student, but now I wonder if MVS was that character, and if that version survived the final cut. Driver could be Von Sydow's apprentice, who collects Sith artifacts for MVS (hence MVS saying "It's here," to an unknown character when discovering the lightsaber Daisy brings him). Driver later kills him in the beginning of the film.

 

Is this villain is played by Benedict Cumberbatch (or another big actor that has visited the set), it will be nice reminder that we very little about what's happening in this film.
