This is the character everyone is calling the cyborg... or Grave Robber... or whatever... read closely what Jason said

What he said was (I believe) this is that character, and it is a mask, and the character has evolved over several concept pieces (come more and perhaps some less cybernetic than others, like Chewie has one that had a cyborg arm that didn't make it into production) and this is closer to what is in production (which, if you remember the quote, "could hide a beard")

In total confusion of terms being thrown around, while I don't think this character is a full cyborg, I think MvS is a full blown cyborg, but not this character

I prefer the other concept art of the grave robber if I'm honest, but if this is indeed the grave robber then they must have had a good reason to go in that direction instead. I do like the light sabre!

I would speculate that the reason may be that this will cover a contractually obligated beard rather well... although, to be honest, we don't know what's behind the mask...

But, honestly, if it does turn out to be Luke, I am glad that they decided to not make him too Vader-like, and that it is more reminiscent of a knight, our fear being that the only armoured people we have seen have been evil, and we just haven't seen a Jedi knight in armour before... but then again, it's been a while since the Jedi geared up for battle...

Great points. If you recall they story of Revan, he wore his mask before and after he was a Darth so if it is Luke, he could wear this as a good guy.

Masks are used to hide identities. Didn't Revan have too reclaim the mask of mandalore, or am I mistaken?

I thought so. It would be interesting if Oscar Isaac, if my speculation is correct would wear a mandolorian helmet, if not Mandolore's mask.

That would be awesome. There has to be a reason they brought Revan back in the Old Republic mmo.

Well.... THAT Revan no longer exists, technically... I don't think... does he? Is he still canon? If he isn't. then the character model is fair game to be revamped and recycled...

He would have died a long, long time ago but the mask may have been brought back in for fans of the KOTOR players. There is a lore behind it, and maybe a good idea to incorporate it into a new project like Episode VII.

OK, so the lightsaber hilt is horrible, imo anyway. Honestly, those lightsaber hand guards are more likely to chop your own hand off than the lightsaber from your enemy.

Just as I stated in the thread about the Chrome troopers, it reeks of JJ and friends sitting around and having a "wouldn't it be cool if" session....

The Sith warrior is cool though.

Even though it may look like Revan, in TOR the majority of Sith warriors where face plates that are very similar to Revans.

Or, if it is a Mandalorian mask, perhaps it comes from the same source...

If the mask is Mandalorian, and the chrome troopers are with this character, then perhaps they too are Mandalorian...

I wasn't big on Maul's dual-saber for much the same reason... having used a staff before, I was of the opinion that the chance of self damage would be high on it...

    ^^THIS!^^
Really great idea. Yeah do not know why people are hating on the broadsword. Luke always sort of had a two handed broadsword kind of fighting style. So this would be in line with what came before.

I hear ya. All three of my daughters take Martial Arts, and I have seen some people using staffs smack themselves pretty good. However, I find the hilt here a lot more unrealistic. It would be like using a regular sword that has double edged daggers as a hand guard.

I never once used the word cyborg in my post. I was talking about Mizzlewump's old speculation rumors, in context with Magnar The Great's link.

Right, and I was commenting on the MvS angle, whereby when people talk about a cyborg, they generally are referring to the Grave Robber, and there is much talk of a cyborg, which the usual response is that "Luke will not be a cyborg".

My statement was that it may have been heard that there was a cyborg (which would be referring to MvS) and there is a Grave Robber (who I think is Luke) and some of the comments may be getting confused where people think Luke's Grave Robber character is a cyborg, which (arm aside) I don't think he is...

See how simple things get confused when pronouns are not used properly? Tá sé ráite agam i gcónaí go bhfuil an Ghaeilge teanga i bhfad níos tuairisciúil
