JJ went to such great lengths to fool everyone with Khan. He wants to surprise everyone a million times more with Star Wars. he actually cares about SW and the fans. So I think he's tricking us with just about everything. He wants us to be surprised. He straight up lied about star trek. I'm sure he's willing to go even farther with SW.

As far as what makes sense, I don't think it makes sense to have an identical locale to one that already exists in the mythos.

I think all the reveals are just slight of hand to keep our eyes off the prize. I hope I'm completely fooled! But I can't stop trying to figure it out either!

I believe this is correct...Han's body is brought to Luke who does the same thing he does with his father...or it could be han and leia we don't know anything...but I believe it has to be one or both...R2 would be upset about leia also

 

Let's face it, they can always say that Tattooine was renamed Jakku (or is the Jawa-nese or Tuskan language version of Tattooine) and then defend calling it Jakku after the fact, by saying what they told us was the truth from a certain point of view. (That way they are just lying Obiwan style - what I would call "Obiwanning" it - which is a part of the Star Wars universe... so no JJ bad guy!)

Actually, wouldn't it make some sense to rename Tattooine? After all, most can see the logic in Luke and Leia trying to distance themselves in the public consciousness of any association with Anakin/Vader or flat out hide their family origin. In the same vein, Tattoine was the home planet to the universe' most feared and iconic Sith, as well as home to the wretched hive of scum and villiany, the Hutts, etc. Hell, Tattoine needs a makeover!

 

I think the thing with Khan = John Harrison is that the new actor looked nothing like the original actor so they wanted to avoid the backlash at casting someone of the wrong race, which ended up happening anyway. I think JJ learned his lesson at screwing with the fans so let's just take everything at face value. He says it's Jakku, it's freaking Jakku.

You've stated the #1 reason why I don't think Han will die. A feel good star wars film where Han dies is not possible. We have 2 other movies to kill Han. Heck we can kill all of them in the second and third film, knock them off one at a time leaving us with a sense of dread coming. Start with Chewie, then Leia, then Luke, kill Han last as he blows up the enemy in the Falcon or something.

I think Artoo with be with Luke almost the entire time. They've been through a lot together. If Luke is in exile, I think he takes Artoo with him.

You think we will see any new Artoo abilities? He gets an upgrade in every movie, it seems.

Ep IV: Interface with all computers.
Ep V: Extendable "eye". (pokes out of the swamp on Dagobah. Smoke screen.(or maybe that's his fire extinguisher from ep. IV?)
Ep VI: Electro schock thingy, Saw blade, saber launcher.
Ep I: Magnetic wheels/legs.
Ep II: Flight Rockets
Ep III: Oil Slick.

If JJ holds to the tradition of upgrading Artoo, I wonder what new gizmos we'll see pop out of his compartments.

 

I believe Artoo is more useful with Luke, they have a strong bond going back the OT.

 

Well that settles THAT....r2 is with Leia in the trailer.....makes sense...next question.

Not to mention, R2 flies his X-wing....

 

Maybe Artoo does start out the movie with Leia. He was with Leia at the begining of ANH after all....Hey, she never thanked Artoo for delivering her message! Ungrateful! If I was Artoo I'd much rather hang around Luke. In Legends it was almost always: Luke had Artoo, Leia had Threepio.

 

At least both droids still have a purpose if they were human I would prefer them to be like this.

 

i 110% agree. Ill even bet my viewings of 8 & 9 that the scene in question is NOT a flashback. Its a campfire. They are in solitude, probably on Skellig by the looks of the giant round boulders. Or the aftermath of the village burning.

i believe we have a match. The lines are identical, the fingers the same thickness.

really great work! its possible this scene with luke will be included w/ the skellig location shots. Or aftermath of Kylos village destruction.

this would make sense. I fully believe MSW has some important stuff wrong. i really think its hamill in this scene. Not to be that guy, but JJ is a smart dude. I believe everything thus far has gone according to his plan. He allowed for those shot lists to leak to MSW. The info within had just enough detail/correct info to validate Jason Wards info. The trailer drops...boom, his word is gods word. And the LFL/BR team are secure, their story is secure. Any real leaks will be shot down as they dont correlate with MSW call sheets. Had MSW not gotten certain details correct, the fandom would disregard Jason's word. I find it HIGHLY suspicious that MSW received callsheets/shot list, and ONLY MSW. I find it highly suspicious that the only real insider info has come from one site, a site that is quite new. I find it highly suspicious that the entire films story beats for a JJ Abrams production leaked in the form of shot lists. And yet Jason cant definitely says what characters are who (solo/skywalker) etc. i know ill be outed as a conspiracy nut for all of this, but i believe MSW only knows exactly what JJ wants us to know.
