The living shipyards, a cleansed Geonosis, and only the tip of the iceberg. It has some really amazing locations.
Fun, yes. About Star Wars. I'm not saying who you can choose for and what to say, but I can ask that you respect the staff and fellow Cantina members.

Excuse me, but when did the world get the erroneous idea that if you meet someone who is full of sh** that telling that person they are full of sh** accomplishes anything?

Use your Ignore buttons people. Move on with your lives and focus on why you are here.

    Good lord.

You'd be surprised how successful it actually is. It just never works over the internet, as the s**t talker feels invulnerable behind their screen.

Great points! And you're correct that they have no reason to unmask Vader or have him go back to the Jedi Temple to unlock the location of the Kyber Crystal, discover Obi-Wan's distress signal, Etc.... I just wish RO didn't look so linear and unimaginative. I can almost predict the whole movie and that's not good. There needs to be more fantasy in SW for that's how it started. A fantasy based in a Sci-Fi world. TFA was pretty linear without much imagination as well. Luckily we had great characters, so the sequels are not doomed quite yet.

I think you are missing the entire point of Rogue One and the Anthology movies in general my friend. The whole point of Rogue One is to focus on the people in the trenches, as well as the military aspect of the SW universe, an actual SW movie focused on the "war" part of Star Wars. The Anthology movies themselves are meant to explore the SW universe from different angles than we would get in a normal episodic film in the series. I'm glad they are choosing to expand the ways that we can look at the story on screen.

Oh, i definitely get the point. My point is I wish Disney would have came out of the gates with the character developing and fantasy elements of SW rather than the linear, predictable, homage (wink, wink to the OT fans and take everyone else out of the film) which is what they've done so far with the franchise.

Good book. That's my point exactly. The view in the trailer of the ISD hovering over Jedha is visually stunning as well as the views of Star Destroyers in atmosphere above the battlegrounds in the game Star Wars Battlefront. It looks really cool!! But tactically, it's pointless. The Empire would lose all the advantages of the Star Destroyer by having it in atmosphere. So why are they there? Maybe we should take this to a separate thread to discuss?

Regardless of your feelings on TFA, what they've done with the franchise so far only covers one film. As for Rogue One, so far I see no wink, wink moments to the fans other than the Vader scene at the end of the last trailer. All of the nostalgic looking imagery makes sense because of the era that the film is set in, no matter what it is going to be somewhat nostalgic in that department. As for character development, we really can't judge Rogue One on that point yet anyway.

For the mystical Force stuff, just wait and see how the main saga films develop. You will only be setting your self up for disappointment if you want the Anthology films to cover the same kind of ground and perspectives as the classic films.

As film series get longer in the tooth, the quality tends to drop....Star Wars has been around since the 1970s....we're approaching episode 8.....so from historical point of view, it shouldn't come as a surprise that the series has gotten way off track.

The people who made the OT....they're either dead or retired....these new guys at the helm are lazy, and rely too much on computers....they lack the talents of their predecessors.

This is a problem affecting the broader film industry as whole...this is why films are costing more to produces and are lower in quality....this generation of film makers doesn't know what the hell they're doing.

It isn't just Lucasfilm that's lost it's way....it's the entire motion picture industry....which I think in the not too distant future, will be forced to restructure into something leaner, more efficient and ultimately, more profitable....because what they've got right now, it just isn't working.

Maybe. But the same could be said about Lucas, Spielberg and others of the late 60's, early 70's, as film was considered to be on a decline by becoming too artistic, over-the-top, acting was shallow, etc, and what they did was to bring everything back with an injection of new methods, ideas, and stories. And the industry now? Their brainchild. So to say films are becoming worse, is saying that films that have come out after all that these pioneers did to rejuvenate the industry, is very weakly researched and an overdramatic misunderstanding. Will film need to undergo changes? Of course. We need more POC, we need less reboots and more novel ideas once again, and new technology has to reshape what we know film to be, like VR. Disliking new films is one thing, but calling them worse when so much of what we see comes directly from those legends? Yikes.
