Should Disney erase PT from canon?

Mmmmmmm that has nothing to do with the criticism's I made.

 

I was making a point for why people should understand the prequels AND the OT respectively.

 

A better film would have explained this, not had to go back and say it later to make up for their bad story telling though. Given all the useless dialogue in the PT, he couldn't find somewhere in there to display this better? To truly show it....He had 3 films in which to work. Instead he made a lot of bad decisions on what to show and what not to show.

I have no issue with people *liking* the PT.
I have issue with people saying they are quality films or that PT haters should all be killed or using ones love of the PT to try and tear down the other films.

 

oh yeah, im defnitely not saying anyone should be killed ever. I wouldnt call the dialogue useless in the prequels but i feel a lot of the story and dialogue was built upon Lucas's own agenda which caused backlash against the OT fans, which wasnt appreciated. As a prequel baby myself, I understand moreso than some other people but it's really more about perspective in understanding.

 

I guess I'm technically a prequel baby given I was 10 when they started coming out, but I also had 10 years of unadulterated, unspecialized edition VHS tapes...

I think it was Lucas' ego that was the ultimate downfall of the PT. He honestly thought he could do no wrong and tried to play it out like "this was the plan all along." When it clearly wasn't...

He's certainly not the only director to this, but perhaps the most notable.

Maybe Cimino with Heaven's Gate.

i saw the OT when i was 4 before the prequels at a CICI'S pizza in town and then would rent ANH, etc. form Blockbuster every single day after my parents came home from work. I was 6 when i saw TPM for the first time and even then, I understood the basics (still hated jar jar). It's not that he could do no wrong but he created a visually stunning trilogy with a not-well-explained plot. Yeha, he had a lot of notes but sith changes. He had plans all along but the details added up over the years. He simply didnt have a conscience on his shoulder to move him along.
