That's a huge change, but I can't comment on whether or not it's good until I try the new system out. Could be the reason why we know nothing about the 2nd season yet - they were busy fixing the progression.

I'm excited about the cosmetic customisation. Let's hope the in-game currency prices will be acceptable and it won't turn out you have to pay for the cool stuff. Also, it doesn't seem like cosmetics in this game have huge revenue potential, but well... I guess every penny matters... Maybe this will motivate them to add a lot of skins.

The challenges for Leia’s Hoth skin are officially live. You have to do all three this weekend, as opposed to Luke’s Hoth challenges, which were spaced out over three weeks.

I’m really excited about this! Leia’s Hoth skin is the only one I’ll probably use of the three, because she actually wears it in a film (unlike whatever the hell her standard outfit is in the game right now).

 

Did anyone notice that the music is now contextualized? Only prequel music on prequel maps, for example.

 

That's cool, but, personally, I prefer to have the game music muted and I always listen to a special Battlefront playlist that I've made. A super long list of hand-picked Star Wars cues from all films. On shuffle.

On a different note, I'm wondering if the April introduction of cosmetic customisation is meant to coincide with the start of Season 2. I guess it's about time... If it's not coming ASAP, then they're probably waiting for Solo, which is weird, because I have a feeling that the next season was supposed to be PT based. Unless it's going to be that and they'll just add some minor Solo elements to it. Still, that would be so long after TLJ season...

 

Patch 2.01 has been released this morning with a couple of fixes.

• Blaster-wielding Heroes and Special Units are now moving at their correct speed again
• Fixed an issue where some Interceptor Class Star Cards had their rarity levels swapped
• Fixed an issue with Locked / Unlocked Star Cards showing the incorrect state
• Fixed a stuttering issue with DX11/12 for AMD GPU players during gameplay
• Fixed an issue with players getting a black screen when deploying
• Various crash fixes

You can now also unlock a Rodian Skin for the Officer Class (daily challenge).

 

I have a problem with crafting parts not being transferred into skill points. I'm yet to see if the new patch fixes that... Unless I misunderstood what's the deal with crafting parts post progression rework.

 

They always said that this would become available in the april update.

 

Ah, OK. Weird, I thought it was going to be part of the main progression patch.

Not at the moment, it's a limited time event. It'll be back soon but nobody knows when besides DICE.

 

Just maxed out my Officer (lvl. 70)

Since the last Patch (new progression system, explosive shot fixe, ...) it's much more fun to play this game.

 

This is pure speculation and a thought. I potentially believe season 2 of BF2 will be solo related. You could have Qi’ra, Young Han, Young Lando and the new villain Enfys nest as additional heroes and villains in the game modes etc. This April update needs to hurry up too.

 

I also believe the new season will be related to the Solo release.

About the new heroes, i don't think we will get a young Han & young Lando heroe, but they will give us a skin of the young versions for the excisting heroes.

 

Solo is getting closer and closer, so I think they might want to tie it to the film's release, but I don't believe that was the initial plan... There was too much rumbling about a Clone Wars DLC with Obi-Wan and Grievous. The progression rework and adding customisation probably messed all the plans up. There's no way a 6-month gap between seasons was on the table since the beginning.

Honestly, I've observed that the Battlefront community is not too keen on a full Solo season. Myself included. I'm excited for the film, but I'd rather get something else in the game.

We already have Han and Lando so they're getting skins for sure. Chewbacca too. They could add another Falcon, it would be much more warranted than putting Han and Rey versions as separate ships... But at this point 3 Falcons would be overkill. They should have made it one ship with multiple skins.

 

So far, it would seem that this assumption is correct, as per Ben Walke's recent tweet:

Generally speaking, the big issue right now is that there is currently more OT & ST content in the game than there is PT. The big hope was that we would get a Clone Wars themed Season 2, with Grevious being the most likely villain since his unfinished player model and references to his abilities were found in the game files via datamining.

If it is a Solo-themed season, though, I'll still take it. Content is something the game sorely needs, and with the promises that update releases will be more frequent now that the progression overhaul is done, it sounds like we'll be getting newer seasons more frequently now. So even if season 2 isn't Clone Wars, it probably won't be long before we get a Clone Wars season.

Agreed. The redundant Falcons were an odd choice, considering Poe's X-wing was already in the game as a counter to Kylo's TIE Silencer. If the Falcon from Solo is in the game, it'll likely be a cosmetic item for Han & Chewie's Millennium Falcon.

 

Not much hope for a season before Solo is around, but I can't wait for that customisation update. All the unlocking will keep us occupied. They're saying April and its the 10th, but, I'm telling you, they actually mean something like the last two days of April...

 

Ben Walke posted on Twitter that from tomorrow (april 12), we will get a new chance of getting the Han Solo Hoth outfit.
