SPECULATION Star Wars Episode VIII Teaser

If MSW says thats what they showed, then thats what they showed. They have better sources than you so there is no need for people to trust you more than MSW.

I don't know where you're getting the notion that I think people should "trust me" on anything. So there's that. I literally just said they'd be better off showing a teaser around thanksgiving time instead of replaying the same Production Announcement video that everyone has seen already....

 

Let's play a little game and read from the great history Star Wars book:

Sequels title announcments:

EMPIRE STRIKES BACK: Announced 21 months before its release.

REVENGE OF THE JEDI: Announced 24 months before

PHANTOM MENACE: 8 months before

ATTACK OF THE CLONES: 10 months before

REVENGE OF THE SITH: 10 months before

THE FORCE AWAKENS: 13 months before

We're currently 18 months away from EPISODE 8.

The difference this time is that there will be a marketing campaign kicking in for ROGUE ONE... still, Star Wars Story movies seems to be in "parallel" to Saga episodes (We already know that the next one will be called HAN SOLO: A Star Wars Story.

So, there is still chances Episode 8 title will be disclosed this July, IF marketing geniuses think it's a good idea to use that to Rogue One's advantage.

Because, a new teaser and title reveal for STAR WARS EPISODE VIII: DUEL OF FATES could have a positive effect on R1's box office performances. The side dish effect,

Lucasfilm has never before had a SECOND film to promote, and as we've already seen there's quite a bit of confusion and consternation around it. They are not going to risk muddying the waters until after Rogue One is released. I bet we don't even see a teaser for VIII this December so as to not leech hype from Rogue One.
Maybe a title at Celebration this year, otherwise it's all Rogue One for the rest of 2016. I'd put money on it.

 

On the contrary, a title (and a teaser) could stop the confusion. If the unaware people see footage of EPVIII, then they will most certainly realize that R1 and VIII are different movies.
Yes, footage of VIII is very unlikely, but not impossible. We just have to wait and see. SWC is only about two weeks away. But one thing is for sure, Disney knows how to market several movies at the same time.

I'm just wondering how the whole situation would have been if VIII remained with the May release. Then we would have got a teaser at celebration for sure.

 

I think attached to Rogue One at the earliest. Rogue One is going to eat up most of the main material we see at the Celebration this year. Disney will want to paint a clear picture of why we should go see it etc. Especially after the confusing news reported about the reshoots and how some people have become turned off by it. I don't think we see any VIII teaser until Rogue One comes out. What better way to get SW fans hyped than give them more SW while they go to see a SW movie?

I think there will be a short teaser with Rouge One in theaters...that's 1 year away, and principal photography is already done.

It's the perfect place to debut it.

 

No teaser till SWC 2017.

I don't think that a title reveal would hurt R1's box office and a teaser of any kind wouldn't hurt as all it would do would be adding fire to the Star Wars hype machine because it's all connected !

Between the joke that Horn made and the fact they seem so close to wrapping on filming, my heart won't be able to take it if they don't. My twitter timeline is nothing but Rian, Hamill and Boyega making jokes about almost being wrapped.

Oh, and there are still two yet to be announced panels on Sunday at SWC

 

I also think the teaser will drop around Rogue One's release, it just makes the most sense.

 

That seems late when you think about it .

I smell a EP VIII Title reveal at SWC.

 

And if anything that is all we are going to get, no Episode VIII video footage yet. The production stops a few days before SWC so they probably wont have time to edit the footage for any video montage.
