SPECULATION Star Wars Episode VIII Teaser

Plus, Frosty writes for Collider. He has a massive article up about the set visit he just did for the Justice League movie.

If he says other friends in the industry saw a little bit of footage...I believe him.

 

In regards to Ep VIII footage overshadowing R1 at SWC, Weintraub also said this:

They're going to show something at Celebration; today's info definitely seems to point in that direction. Why certain forum members think otherwise is beyond me. It's almost like they don't want to see footage or a teaser. Anyhow, we'll all know soon enough and this mini debate can be put to bed. We either get something or we have to wait a bit longer... Look, I'm not counting the chickens before they hatch or whatever, but I'm also not going to take the word of Internet "experts" who are so absolutely certain of what they know.

 

JJ left a lot of stuff hanging intentionally. It was influenced by Larry Kasdan. There is a quote out there in a interview where JJ says as much. I don't remember where. I'm sure @MagnarTheGreat has it for us.

 

JJ also said (jokingly, I hope) something about how he will let Rian deal with making things up from him .

I just read that MSW apparently debunked it and are saying it's the exact same production announcement that we've all seen .

 

The quote I'm talking about was around the time TFA came out and it dealt with the writing process and how it is important not to give too much information.

No. There was a specific quote somewhere where JJ talks about how he learned from Larry Kadan that it was best to leave things left for interpretation and not spell things out. I believe he said the OT was that way.

 

So footage debunked but more fuel from Alan Ladd himself that title announcement is coming soon. Sounds about right.

Yeah that's pretty much the only thing I was truly expecting to happen .

 

Well it gives it a little more credit now that more than one website has a story on it as well. I'll wait and see if Viral has anything to say about this before I make my final judgement.

Okay now we can move on from that news story.

 

I actually expect it to show very late:about March/April. The second option would be October /November but with Rogue One I don't see it happening.

 

Whats the f*****g reason for showing that again ????? I mean its a waste of f*****g time and space. Instead of making something a little special they turn around and give people the F.U. finger by showing the same footage again. They better not show that Production start footage again at SWC, it wouldnt make sense and it would seem like they are doing it just to please the fans. Then I think they should rather wait with showing any Episode VIII video stuff till later this year or March/April next year. On the other hand, they have more than enough footage now to make a little special Episode VIII video thing for the SWC, but I still dont think it would happen, its just to early.

 

Well I thought that Rian said that they are in the "home stretch" for filming but it's sort of like at how the last year's celebration they showed BTS footage of some of the cast members talking and then replayed it over and over again everywhere until there was something new

Is it possible they show us an expanded clip of that production announcement video? Maybe one or two scenes more + title reveal? That would be satisfying for me.

 

Agreed! Could you imagine the amount hype it would have if Luke just said "Rey," and it cuts to what Ep VIII's official title is going to be? That'd be the best tease and troll movie ever! And a good sequel to the first clip.

 

I don't think they'd ever show any full scenes .

 

Something like that is definitely a possibility.

 

I would have to disagree with MSW here. Why on earth would they JUST show the production announcement video again when it already has been widely viewed?

I think they may either show some new footage or none at all. I'm still sticking to my prediction that the first teaser won't be released until after Thanksgiving.
