All day, I think this movie is top three if not higher in the entire series.

 

Fanatism is dangerous when reach to a toxicity level, i have literally facepalmed when i read a comment from a jerk that was saying thank goodness that carrie fisher is dead to save herself from this embarrassment

 

yeah, I just sometimes think to myself, why not use that energy in a more positive way? Like some real cause that has a chance at being achieved. However, I have since stopped wasting my own time trying to understand these sort of things... 5 minutes ago, lol.

 

It's 4 for me, the themes are so rich, despite some weird moments.

Well I'm on a forum arguing/discussing about Star Wars late at night instead of sleeping. But I think even I'm being more productive than they are.

 

I understand. I was speaking with some friends today about it. Most all liked it a lot, some loved it. They did however share the things that detracted from it being the best star wars to them.

On average we had the movie anywhere from 5th best to absolute favorite, so I totally get it. I'd even understand if it wasn't in the top 5. That is just how different this film was and I love it for taking such chances

 

Since it had themes and working character arcs in most cases (y'know where they grown and develop and feel-different by the end than at the start) it was already miles ahead of PT. TFA just under it because it had Abrams bland direction, despite being overall decent.

Original trilogy is golden for me. It helped me get through depression when I was younger and it's why I love ST so much. I LOVE SW!!!

Even weird moments are atypical of SW. Space Leia is like Deathsticks or Greedo!

 

I totally understand that. The OT is special to me as well, I rank it right above return of the Jedi though as that was the worst of the OT IMO. I just felt TLJ was such a breath of fresh air for this Skywalker story line.

 

TLJ was different, almost what franchise needed at this point. Because it was different, it was change, which many people feared and disliked.

Because it's their fave franchise, they love it and don't want it to change. But things do change, so new people can experience what they experienced with the OT and PT.

Suicide Squad has a 61% user rating on RT. Just saying.

I mean I just can't believe a movie like SS has a higher user rating than TLJ.

I don’t usually vote on any website save occasional IMDb reviews that I’ve done. However, i felt the RT user results is so tilted, I had to vote in my star rating too.

I recall someone else arguing about the same in this forum. Just as those who didn’t like the movie, I too have a right express my opinion.

And my opinion is that TLJ is an excellent movie that deserves better rating.

Same here. I'm not ashamed to say I really really liked and appreciated it as both an entertainment product and a thematic piece of art, despite some weird visual choices and flat sections. But that's typical of SW.
