SPOILER The Falcon's Fate

It gets damaged after Kylo shoots it down. But its in the end of the film with Rey, Chewbacca, and BB-8.

 

Wait...Kylo shoots the Falcon down? I'm not keeping up with my spoilers....

 

Yeah, wait, what? It gets shot down? Can we hear more about that?

Spoilers and rumors aside, I think it would be very un-smart for Disney/Lucasfilm to sacrifice the Falcon and lose all the marketing/merchandizing opportunuties that come with it. You can kill off a main character, but you can't kill off a fantastic Lego set.

 

I'll have info about that soon. I just want to get it all correct. It says shot down, but I think its just in need for repairs and forced to land. Chewie is able to fix it rather quickly after Han's death.

 

Wasn't there concept art of the Kylo Ren/Rey battle that showed a burning Falcon? Or did it just have the Falcon and I am imagining it burning.

 

It had a yellowish glow but to be honest, with the quality of that picture the color could have been anything. Sort of like a Zepruder film type of thing. Maybe the Falcon is on the grassy knoll. LOL.

 

If Michael Bay was directing.. It would explode in epic fashion

 

No way they'll destroy the Falcon, it'll be used a lot through the trilogy before being retired at the end of episode IX.

On the other hand they could retire it with Han in episode VII like this..

 

I know that recent MSW rumors have Rey, Chewie and BB-8 but previous talk was that Han would be passing it on to Poe. Personally I hope it goes to Poe.

 

When I had Poe pegged as a Lando/Han hybrid scoundrel he gets the Falcon but him being the X-Wing pilot he doesn't need it, whereas Rey and Finn won't have a ride

 

What about poor Peter Mayhew?
He needs it for the conventions!

It's really a monumental time for all of us fans. The simple fact that there is a thread on the fate of an iconic spaceship is a true indicator of what all this means to so many people!

Every rumor, spoiler, and speculation are exciting and fun! I get more excited with each day and whether anything we find is true or false we still help this film build quality momentum. The guys at Disney and LucasFilm should be proud of the free marketing and hype we all provide.

Is Poe actually in this film? Waiting for the MSW spoiler on him....

 

Yeahhhhhhhhhh..... I long speculated on the fact that Poe may be the result of a love affair between these two:

 

I hope that Rey ends up with the Falcon as rumored. Having the lead protagonist a female as well as giving the most iconic Staw Wars ship to her would go along way to shut up all the haters who complain about female presence in SW. I think the the number of prominent females in the cast is helping to do this but giving Rey the Falcon would be icing on the cake.

 

The reason I could see it going to Poe in VIII is because I imagine Rey's storyline that episode will revolve around her training and Poe is, by nature, a pilot. Yeah, Poe has his x-wing but he might not turn down the iconic ship, especially if Han was a mentor to him. And, let's face it, Chewie is going to need something to do and Poe will step into the Han role.

WITH the understanding that it's hers whenever she needs or wants it.
