I don't have anything against that kind of relationships but people do not understand how deep can become ties between people who went together by the destiny that put them together trough the horrors of war and facing near death, fight for survival.. . Of corse they love each other I think not in sentimental way but as brothers, in arms.

The same is happening between Rey and Finn to. At the end of TFA Rey gently kissed unconscious Finn like he is her brother. Its love and ties over and above the sex level.

My guess was pure troll, pure provocation, and nothing really valuable is to take in it But you could have included Jyn and Cassian by the end of R1, too, in your example

very much doubt we will see any more from Finn in trailers. we all know about the scenes rumored, but i doubt we will see him up-n-running after his TFA injury.

only thing i'm sure of is that Mr Williams will make whatever we see magical.

 

If we have learned anything from TFA and RO trailers, we will see a lot of shots (and dialogue) that won't even make it into the movie, which I'm ok with. The more SW the better in my book. I compare it to like getting to open a present on Christmas Eve...more Christmas presents is always a good thing, unless you are spoiled brat; and none of us SW fans are that!

Looking from that perspective , trough this ancient knowledge I presented , we should be aware of necessity for the Jedi ( as well as the Sith) to end,as they restricted some types of Love, restricting philia and its transforming of erôs from a lust for possession into an impulse for philosophy and even greater things than both Jedi and Sith could do.

I would like to find this intelectual level behind the decision of Lucasarts storygroup to put an end to a Jedi.

Who knows, maybe this is knowledge that Luke was searching for in the First Jedi Temple?

I would love to see some characters. Far less BOOMS! and KAPOWS! I guess that stuff is good for young folks or kids, gets them all excited but to me it's a special effects show off and kind of lowbrow. I think of Star Wars A New Hope, not much action really, lots of character building and dialogue. That was the Star Wars I grew up on and I would like to go back to that.. Empire and Jedi ramped up the action some but again neither were over the top. I watch the trailers and there is just so much going on.. Reminds me of the prequels - "It's so dense! There's so much packed into each shot!" Yeah no thanks.

So I would love to see a slower paced more thought provoking trailer.. Have some dialogue and show us the characters (which they have done so bravo). I guess I'm an old fuddy duddy lol but I'd rather have a slower film as far as action and KABOOMS! are concerned with more development, drama, tension, laughter, emotion!

 

Yeah it's definitely a tightrope to walk! You don't want to give away too much or maybe anything at all for sure. How this is done I can't help ya much or I'd be making these trailers! lol. But you got what I meant. I just don't want Michael Bay trailers or films for that matter lol.

It's kind of funny I found this thread today as last night some friends and I were comparing the teaser trailer for The Last Jedi to the final trailer for The Force Awakens.. I liked the Force Awakens trailer more myself, I loved the "fan service" of showing the Falcon, I loved the timing of the few explosive moments with John William's score (nice emotional manipulation there!), and the screen time the characters got, like the shot with Finn and Poe for example. I loved Han's voice over and showing Rey, Finn, BB8 and Han on the Falcon.. The slow zoom in on Kylo watching the lasers from the Death Star III and his voice over.. I just thought it was really well done and had the right amount of KABOOMS!

Hopefully the full trailer for The Last Jedi is similar in tone, well at least that's my hope. The ending of the teaser and the score with it really just turned me off. My other friends loved the teaser, so it could totally just be me. It started well I thought though, with Rey and those cool scenery shots.. UGH.. I don't hate the teaser lol.. ARGH forget it.. I'm just blathering now.. sorry lol.

 

Oh god Mike the liar. Anyway I never heard of a director who actually confirmed any scenes or charaters from a trailer before it was released. He is just blowing hot air as usual.

 

What could appear in next teaser/trailer:
*quick images of Tran, Dern, Del Toro to introduce their characters
*build up to Finn, Poe
*close up of Leia
*Snoke, Hux
*Rey, Luke
*Kylo Ren and the Kor
*space battle scenes
*maybe still have Luke narrate; or each character say something e.g. Rey, Leia, Luke, Kylo, Snoke that gives us some kind of tease to add to what Luke said at the end of the trailer, but not spoil the narrative.
*possibly be introduced to new/familiar planets as well as other creatures, ships and droids

In terms of a Luke "kick ass" scene a la Papa Vader in Rogue One, I think that would be too predictable. I'd prefer Luke display his powers in surprising and unexpected ways, so we can say ' whoa, I didn't see THAT coming!' Sure, I'm all for 'igniting the green', but look for other things that Luke will be able to do. But I think he'll do it sparingly or when backed into a corner or when Rey could need help so to speak.

That said, the latter won't turn up in a trailer for sure. It'll happen in the film.

 

If history holds just enough to get us to tear up social media one more time.
