The full trailer. What do you want/expect to see ?

*Opens with Snokes Super Super Star Destroyer cruising through space
Snoke's voice giving some sinister order
Cuts to Resistance capital ship Leia giving a rousing speech
Space Battle - including brief glimpse of Kylo's TIE
Hux on the bridge of Star Destroyer giving an order to Phasma.
Phasma and some stormptroopers mid massacre
R2 doing something funny with one of the birds
Finn and Rose on the back of the space horse being chased by someone
Obligatory falcon shot
Rey looking scared
Cuts to black
Slowly fades up to Kylo Ren and either KoR or some other shock troops searching Ach-To at night
Green light-saber ignites behind them
fade out

 

If they show a shot of him lighting that green saber I'm going to freak out. I'm down for the misdirection angle and trying to create mystery about what Luke's state of mind is to try to build suspense. But I don't know what will make me say "DAMN I NEED TO SEE THAT 1,000 TIMES!!" More than seeing hearing Luke ignite the saber and looking like he's about to go to work!!

 

Thinking about it, I would like to see Lando after Hans funeral in a Sabbac Game with Wedge, some Twi’lek and a Rodian in a shady den of thieves. While Boba Fett’s mandalorian armor could be glimpsed in the Background for just under 1 second.

maybe then, Luke igniting a red bladed lightsaber while 3 porgs around him ignite a green bladed lightsaber, while Ahsoka who was standing behind Rey taps on his shoulder and when Rey turns, she sees Thrawn coming to her holding Kylo Ren's saber ?
I'm sure you'll damn need to see that billion times

 

And then Kylo Ren arrives wearing a new Vader mask, and he ignites an OB1 lightsaber while Force-choking all the Porgs.

Hehe it's good to dream up crazy stuff! I'm looking forward to the simple things, like nods to the previous movies - I imaging seeing Chewbacca carrying R2 in a backpack up the stone staircase.

 

All jokes apart, I the only thing I really want in this trailer is Carrie's face and smile. I hope they actually will.

As we inch closer & closer to the next look at TLJ, I am reminded more and more how disappointing the teaser was.

What I want to see in TLJ trailer is something new and unexpected.

TFA is a remake with some interesting new touches. RO fills in the blanks of the same story TFA retold.

The PT was a large departure from the OT. I understand why LFL restarted SW with those two movies.


But I'm pretty done with the restart phase.

The first teaser for TLJ didn't have anything new and different in it. Every single fan trailer had a glamour shot of the island in it. Most had Rey training.

Luke's school being destroyed, we new that was going to get covered. KR, Poe, and Leia get quick appearances...

Even that stinger wasn't a surprise thanks to the title.

I have very high hopes for TLJ. I think it'll be revealed to be a very good film.

But that's all based on faith. I need the next look we get to be full of unexpected, interesting ideas and shots. Otherwise, I'm going to suspect we're getting another safe paycheck entry in the saga.

This is reading more negative than I mean it, but I feel like they need to work harder on the next trailer. I sure hope the next one doesn't just confirm stuff the way the teaser did.

 

Chewie, just doing anything. He wasn't in the teaser at all. Im sure he'll appear to save the day at some point!

 

I didn't know where to put this and don't know if anyone has seen it, but this is a side by side comparison of TFA and TLJ teasers. Pretty cool. Some shots are pretty exact to others.

Oh ok. I haven't seen the TFA one in so long I didn't pay attention.

I want to see a lot more Finn, but this time in action. I also want to see Rose, DJ, and Admiral Holdo. In my book, anything less than that is a travesty.

 

I'll say what I don't expect: Luke's saber; Snoke; the KORs; Laura Dern and Benicio Del Toro; duel/fight scenes.

TFA's campain was built around some very specific moments of the movie: the Falcon chase on Jakku; X-Wings flying on the water; teasing of old characters. I think the TLJ's campaing will be built around Crait and the space battle with the Resistance bombers. For obvious reasons, they will never show so much of Luke, or at least I hope, but considering Carrie's passing, the full trailer will probably tease Luke and Leia reunion. Of course, I expect some glimpse of Rey's (and maybe Ren's) training, and a lot of Ahch-To shots.

 

I noticed that and the last shot of Luke turning. I dont think Luke was ever in any of the trailers.
